NORCO is a dialogue-focused point & click adventure that immerses the player in the sinking suburbs and industrial swamplands of an increasingly surreal and distorted South Louisiana.

I got immersed I got completely lost in the colorful world of Norco for the entire day until I reached the finale. It’s rare for a game to hook me so thoroughly. For a pixel-art game, it truly exceeds expectations, thanks to its vibrant color palette, meticulous attention to detail in every location, and the sheer scale of the world. The soundtrack deserves a special mention—the music is incredibly atmospheric and perfectly suited to each location and story arc. I also appreciated the abundance of humor woven into what seemed, at first glance, like a very dramatic narrative. The satisfying ending gives a real sense of closure to an engaging journey. Thank you to the developers for such a touching experience—I can’t wait to see what you create next!
Really compelling narrative game. Very literary, lots of stuff to unpack thematically. At time of writing I'm still trying to dissect how I feel about the ending. Had some technical issues, one particularly poorly timed game crash right at the end forced me to replay an extended combat section and that was annoying and killed some of the anticipation. The actual gameplay also felt pretty weak, whenever there was combat it felt like it was just getting in the way more than anything. But the visuals, music, and prose really do make it worth playing. It's also short enough that you can beat it in one day, I personally really appreciate that in narrative-focused experiences.
If you like pixelated graphics that remind you somewhat of games from 25+ years ago and point-and-click adventures, chances are you'll enjoy the style and mechanics of this game. I genuinely have no complaint in that regard. I don't regret my time spent in the game, which ended up being a bit more than four hours. The puzzles weren't challenging but some of them were interesting. The script/text (let's be honest, the main meat of the game) was excellent, albeit perhaps feeling rushed or a bit scattershot in places. I feel like they could have doubled the amount of story showing more of the world and fleshing out some of the story, but what do I know, I wasn't the author. The story however, I'm not sure how to describe it. At its core it's the MC coming home after being away (let's call it "being a free spirit") for some time to confront the aftermath of some family tragedy and some mystery surrounding it. That's the base. Elements of the rest of the story follows a somewhat normal progression in terms of structure with a few jumps between viewpoints, but the world building and characters feel like a psychotic fever-dream. In the end, my reaction was, the story and characters were odd, but overall didn't make a coherent sense, but I didn't hate it. I'm sure I'm missing some important subtexts and metaphors that an armchair philosopher will likely be able to feel superior about. There's likely parallels being drawn where NPCs were elements or aspects of their life and mind. In the end, much like so many song lyrics, you'll come to your own interpretations and conclusions. TL, DR: That was interesting. I don't get it.
