About
Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon, VOYAGERS (6.0), Remnant, Xeno Arena and The Swarm.
And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.
Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).
An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Reviews
It's been a few months since I started playing No Man's Sky, and now I think I've experienced enough of the game to leave a review. No Man's Sky is a very unique, vast and ambitious game; I'll go over some of the main core aspects, to explain what I like and what I don't.
Exploration
The bread and butter of No Man's Sky is exploration; unfortunatly, this is where I think the game is too ambitious for its own good. At first, exploring planets, space stations and ships is pretty fun, but soon it becomes quite repetitive; the game simply doesn't have enough "templates" for the procedural generation: - most planets feel too similar to each other; - every space station is pretty much the same; - there's a lack of places of interest. The ability to name pretty much everything you come across is an interesting and cool system; exploring is also quite rewarding in terms of resources. Every now and then it is possible to find a memorable planet that feels like no other.
Travelling
What I personally feel like the game does very well is travelling: space truly feels huge; land vehicles are slow and kind of weird to use, but the spaceships are amazing in pretty much every way: driving them, their design, the ability to create and customize a ship from scratch (especially corvettes!). My biggest gripe with ships, apart from certain weird restrictions while building them, is the combat. While the ship weapons feel pretty fun, fighting other ships is pretty much always the same thing: press the lock button and shoot. It's not too bad, but it does become repetitive and it feels too simple.
Survival
Another important aspect of No Man's Sky is surviving in the often extreme conditions you find yourself in: toxic, radioactive, extreme temperature planets are everywhere; the mechanics of survival are, actually, very simple and basic. It often just involves collecting a resource to recharge your equipment (for example, oxygen for life support). Depending on the chosen gamemode, this can be a mild inconvenience or something to look out for constantly. Personally, I feel indifferent to these systems: on one hand, they feel necessary for the game, on the other they aren't particularly fun/exciting; I guess they're fine.
Technology and Multi-tool
To help you survive, your equipment, exosuit and vehicles can be upgraded through tech; and there is a lot of different tech that can be found/bought. Some simply improve the efficiency of your multi-tool (your main way to gather resources and to fight on land), others can even unlock travel to more complex systems. The multi-tool is pretty reliable, and even if land combat is pretty boring, the amount of tech and weapons that can be used is great. These mechanics make the overall progression of the game far more interesting and fun.
Story
The story in No Man's Sky is not the center piece, and as such, it tries to move out the way pretty quickly. Despite this, I enjoyed it; one thing which I also didn't mind but many people may find weird is the way dialogue is done; I'm not sure how to explain it, but it's very descriptive. It tries to "tell more than show".
Other stuff
One of the most unique aspects of No Man's Sky is the way multiplayer works: it's not really an MMO, but there is a main hub, and everytime you enter a new system, you could meet another player there. Of course, due to the scale of the game, this is very rare, and everything multiplayer-related can be turned off in the settings. Now, while trying to play with friends, I came across a few bugs causing some of us to getting disconnected; this is part of a bigger problem: there are quite a lot of bugs and glitches. I haven't met any game-breaking bugs, but most of them were related to the terrain and base building. So, what is my opinion on No Man's Sky? While the game suffers from a lot of problems, and many mechanics just don't feel complete, it is still an entertaining game that is unlike anything else I have ever played; I also appreciate all the work the developers have been doing in the past years, pretty much for free. I am very happy of my experience, and had quite a lot of fun, so I recommend it.

After 10 years it just clicked. buy recommendation. works great in vr. just buy.
When it released, it wasn't worth it, but now it's one (if not) the best space simulation out there. Get it with or without a discount. 🧑🚀🚀
my entire day has been taken over
Had hundreds of hours of this game on PS5, and continued my save file on PC. I think it was around the time I went to the center of the galaxy and made a monument to my beloved cat who passed away when I realized this game was special to me in a way that had nothing to do with its graphics, gameplay, or post-launch improvements. When I hit my per-save build limit, I retired my character in a base I built on a beautiful planet I named after my fiancee, the love of my life.
