I’ve been playing Nioh for almost 6 years now. I don’t think I’ve ever played another game as much as this one. I had planned to finish the abyss at some point because I was under the impression that Nioh 3 was never gonna come out, but when it was announced, I thought, “Well, I guess it’s time to tackle the abyss.” 2025 was the year, by the time I went back to complete the abyss, I had already completed more than 100 floors, meaning I had more than 700 floors left to complete. Surprisingly it didn’t take me too long, by the beginning of December I reached the last floor, no one-shot living weapon ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ build or any of that ♥♥♥♥ although my build was pretty strong I wouldn’t say I was overpowered, obviously I had already completed every mission in the game, all achievements, all playthroughs and every title, except for the online titles, those are hard to get, not fun. Because I was feeling nostalgic, I started a new playthrough from scratch, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Nioh is still a lot of fun. Of course, Nioh 2 is better, but Nioh 2 wouldn’t be what it is if it weren’t for Nioh 1. That being said, Nioh 2 is still the better game, by far… Anyone who says that Nioh 1 is better than Nioh 2 must be on drugs or something. Of course, Nioh 1 is harder than Nioh 2, but Nioh 2 is way more fun. I don’t want to talk too much about Nioh 2 because I want to write a review of it someday, but if you want a better experience with Nioh 2, do yourself a favor and play Nioh 1 first. Don’t skip it. I’ve learned a lot from this game, and it’s had a great influence on me. It's definitely the second-best game I’ve ever played, and obviously, Nioh 2 is the best game I’ve ever played, at least as of the time I’m writing this review. I'm not a big fan of what they did with Nioh 3 in terms of the open world, open field, or whatever it's called. The mission system was way better, and not being able to use the yokai abilities the way we used to, that’s another thing. The other problem is that, even though inventory management has been improved since Nioh 1, managing the inventory for two characters and their soul cores feels like a hassle. I don’t wanna feel like I’m working, I wanna play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, but a Nioh game is a Nioh game, and that on its own is already something worth playing. Nioh is a masterpiece with a few flaws here and there but overall it’s an amazing game that suffers from the same issues as monster hunter or other games with way too many mechanics, tools and things that you can use to make your gaming experience better but due to the lack of knowledge it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and think that the game sucks but once you learn how the combat works, cancelling animations, builds and whatnot, that’s when the game really clicks. Funnily enough, I learned about all those things when I reached NG+2, but when I got into the nitty-gritty of the combat mechanics, it changed the way I was playing to the point where it influenced how I played other games. I wouldn’t be the same without Nioh. To celebrate that I’ve finished the abyss. I made a video with my own gameplay covering some of my favorite songs from Nioh.
im on the umi boss and it seems they changed it made it harder to beat the boss spawns in his pawns which makes u focus on them and they have rapid fire type of hits while ur tryna already evade a swinging water arm or getting slammed by a boat im uninstalling this
