If you're looking for a soulslike game co-op and without conditional co-op PvP mechanics, Nioh 2 is a great choice. The game starts off challenging while remaining fun, especially thanks to its deep and satisfying combat system. I recommend experimenting with as many weapon types as possible. Each weapon feels distinct and offers a different playstyle. Also, don't become too attached to specific weapons or armor pieces, as the game constantly rewards you with new gear throughout every mission. The biggest weakness of Nioh 2, in my opinion, is its map design and soundtrack. Most areas lack a strong sense of identity, and very few locations stand out as memorable. The music is similarly forgettable, and I struggle to recall any particularly iconic maps/tracks after finishing the game. For new players, I'd suggest focusing primarily on the main story missions and avoiding too many side missions. The side content can become repetitive, and sticking to the main path helps maintain the game's pacing and overall enjoyment.
The only soulslike I have beaten so far. The combat is incredibly deep with three different stances, a unique stamina recovery system, different weapons with tons of combos and different skilltrees, the cool anima/magic system and the counters. Enemies are strong, with even the most common ones having grabs and attacks that can kill you in one or two hits. But you dont have to stand around, or just dodge. Once you understand an enemies moves, you can get active and interrupt/punish them. You can really lay into enemies and even bosses once you understand how breaking their stance/stamina and stagger works. I prefer Nioh2 over Dark Souls. It always felt like improving my mechanics alowed me to dictate the pace of combat in a way that other soulslikes do not enable you to do. I would put it like this: In Dark Souls you react to your enemy, and then you punish, in Nioh 2 you do both at the same time. Some people say Nioh 2 is the hardest souls like, and while i agree that it has a higher mechanical skill floor and ceiling than most others I tried out, I think its just so different to Dark Souls that it atrackts a different crowd. So if Dark Souls feels sluggish to you, you might just prefer Nioh2.
This game is ass and not very fun. there is huge potential here but instead of focusing on being fun it focuses on being as obnoxious as possible. Don't bother
JE SUIS LE SEIGNEUR DES YOKAI MALICIEUX
Extremely optimised and fun game. Looks and runs great on my gtx 960 2gb. Currently on Dream of the Demon. This game has an absurd amount of content
