Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.86/day in the week to Sep 1 → 6.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A VERY unique game amongst the genre of open-world survival games! This one holds a very special place in my heart, since all the way back in Alpha(God, when was that...? 2012? 2013?? It's been so long...). In a world full of mystical wonder and cryptic history, you find yourself in a place entirely unfamiliar to you. Strange creatures prowl the land, night and day twist and turn as fast as a compass spins, and the darkness takes all that it consumes! This world is out to get you, and it wants you DEAD! But... that doesn't necessarily mean everything is hostile. Not always! And sometimes, if you know what you're doing, you can bend nature's will and turn it against itself! Ahhh, there's nothing quite like it... Just to be clear, you WILL die. Over, and over, and over, and over again... But every death has meaning. Purpose. Each one a learning experience, to know more of the world, and to keep pushing you forward. It's a game about discovery, wondering what could be out there, and stepping into the unknown. Everything you see has its uses. Anything that can kill you can also kill other things. Even death itself can be twisted in your favor. Breaking the immersion here, I want to talk about the artstyle and music. Very old-timey, both art and music. The style, while looking rather rustic, does have a cartoony feel to it, even the animations! And the music has this very "gramophone era" tone to it, using all sorts of old instruments. Oh, and the survivors you play as? Each one's voice is tied to a unique instrument! Musicians and music fans out there, I DARE you to guess each survivor's instrument! To conclude; I, wholeheartedly, recommend it to anyone who's into the survival genre and the unique experience this game brings, to those who have an ear for music and always listening to every note, and to those who LOVE uncovering hidden lore and mysteries, for this game has a LOT of it! Side note for DLCs: Reign of GIants is an extension of the base game. Get that when you're okay with the base game loop. Shipwrecked and Hamlet offer entirely new worlds to die- Errr, I mean, survive in! These two worlds can be connected to the base game world(through some hocus pocus teleporty thingamajig), and you can jump between them freely should you choose the option in the main menu. Side note below my side note: For anyone interested in Don't Starve Together, I recommend getting this game as a precursor. See how you like/can handle the mechanics it offers. The "closest" you can get to a DST experience in this game is playing it alongside Reign of GIants. All four seasons and its challenges included. If you're good to go, then go right ahead for the die-together-multiple-times gameplay of the multiplayer version! Side note below the side note that's below the other side note: Can you tell I love making notes...?

The idea is brilliant. The execution forgets to teach you anything. I want to love Don't Starve. The concept is excellent, and the first few hours do pull you in. The longer I played, though, the clearer one problem became: the game does not teach you across rounds. Each round should leave you better prepared for the next. Instead, each round teaches you almost nothing, and the result is a loop that feels less like mastery and more like repetition. Good survival games make failure productive. You die, you learn something specific, and you come back equipped to do better. Frostpunk is a strong example. You fail a few times, but you understand exactly why, and each restart feels like a fresh opportunity rather than a punishment. Don't Starve rarely gives you that. You die, and most of the time you are not sure what you were supposed to do differently, because the game hides the information you would need in order to learn. The clearest example is food. Hunger is one of your core meters, yet the game makes it almost impossible to understand what any given food does for you. You cannot easily see how much hunger something restores, the number drains too fast to read a clean before and after, and the interface fights you the whole time. So instead of learning a system, you are left guessing. A whole rabbit somehow seems to feed you less than a single carrot, and the game never explains why. That is not depth. That is a withheld stat. This is the core issue. Don't Starve is not a game you learn by playing. It is a game you learn by reading about somewhere else. There is an important difference between a game that uses a wiki and a game that requires one. Terraria uses a wiki. The game still teaches you its basics, shows you recipes, and gives you readable feedback, and the wiki only helps you optimize. Don't Starve requires a wiki for basic function, because the in-game learning loop is broken. You can sink dozens of hours into it and still feel like you have learned nothing, because the learning was never available inside the game to begin with. None of this means the game is shallow. The systems are there, and for players who enjoy treating the wiki as part of the experience, that may even be the appeal. For me, it is a wall. A game should be able to teach me how to play it, and after enough rounds of dying to systems the game refuses to explain, I stopped feeling challenged and started feeling stonewalled. I respect what Don't Starve is trying to be. I just wish it trusted its own systems enough to teach them. Not recommended, with regret.
I appreciate this for what it is, but at this point I would suggest any potential buyers just saunter over to Don't Starve Together instead, even if you are playing solo. It has way more content and even still gets updates.
