Una genialidad de juego
this is a really hard game to give a rating to. i wish there was a neutral option to rank. if you have any knowledge of how nioh feels, the best way to explain is that it is almost too much of the same, while at the same time adding more things to make the gameplay feel more engaging and fun. so the story of nioh 2 is kind of.. a prequel to the first game, where you are fighting alongside characters that are alive in the past events, as you are a changeling. someone half born from yokai. you travel with some characters and meet others as you go through. essentially just helping nobunaga conquer japan as you get rewarded with anima stones which ends up causing problems with an evil.... wizard.... huh. it is cool that like... after you beat the final boss you kind of... are done but still have a couple more story missions that let you meet and fight with the main character you were from the first game. gameplaywise. as i said, it kind of doesn't have much change to it, but it has more systems added which make it feel a lot nicer. while is still think it is stupid that enemies can 2 hit you though. being 2 hit by enemies feels kind of even dumber in this game since you are like half yokai, so you'd imagine that you would be stronger than a normal person and be able to take another hit or two, o something atleast. luckly with new systems, you get the ability to.... instead of just awakening your weapon, you transform into one of 3 different yokai forms. each with their own moves, counter windows, and skills or abilities or something. depending on which guardian spirit you have depends on which type of yokai/changeling abilities you possess. now a lot of heavy hitting enemies attacks come with a short window and a big audio/visual clue to let you know that you can counter them during this attack and stop it, recover some health, and take a huge chunk of their energy from them making a lot of enemies stupid damage moves much more balanced and less of just a ♥♥♥♥ you button. last thing is weapons. most are the same as the first but with a few new cool additions. such as fist weapons, a chain/split staff, and a transforming sythe along with your forms, you are now able to take the souls of yokai you defeat to use one of their moves as a special atttack, once you have enough energy built up to do so. it is also nice that you can use these abilities while in your super form as well. as well as two new weapon elements of holy/blessed and.... cursed? i forget the name. both kind of do the same things but in different ways. while blessed is amazing for draining yokai energy specifically, the cursed weapons affect everyone and can also shoot out ranged attacks as long as the weapon itself has been charged up though fighting while using it. the big problem i have with the gameplay is that... while i played almost all of the first game and ti felt fine. even with newe areas and enemies and weapons, i get to chapter 3 and then just play only the main missions. i don't know if i just broke out of the matrix or something but the side missions just aren't fun or intersting or kind of worth playing. once you get good weapons and your level gets high enough to where you can occasionally level up, there is no real point to explore side missions o main missions for more trash to just sell or offer to shrines. like the game is fun, a little annoying, but it is so boring to play which is such a weird thing for me of all people to say. uh, the music, again, is okay. not really much stands out to me outside of some phenomenal songs that play to set the mood of an area. i really want to say it is anything that has that booming powerful, ancient sounding music. like the same stuff you can hear from spirited away. it makes things feel so grand and it was nice to have something that made me appreciate some late game areas. i am sure there is something else i could think to mention, but i really can't right now so.... sorry if i don't talk about something you were wondering about? like the game is fine, and it is nice to have the additions they gave to it. but i feel like there is so little change to.... something about how the game feels that i drop side content because it just doesn't feel like it is worth my time to play.

While my feelings for the first Nioh were comparable with playing Diablo for the first time, this one gave me the same fuzzy feeling as Diablo 2, which is one of my GOATs. So yes, this is most definitely one of my favorite games of all-time in any genre 👍👍👍
