Never Meet Your Heroes

Okay, this game is terrible. But not at the same time. I'm giving it a negative review, but that's because for most people, they're not going to enjoy this game. It's full of grindy mechanics, a terrible plot, and lots of 'gotchas' you can wander into if you're not careful. However, it IS a recommend for some people... if on Sale... in the sense that it starts to border on the "SO bad it's good" formula. The plot is blatantly ridiculous to the point of Hilarious on multiple levels. Some of the women are actually attractive and the animations involved with them are nice. But at the end of the day, as much as I admire the creator being able to finish his game and bring it to fruition... It's just... bad in lots of parts. Bad on mechanics, bad on it's grinding, and bad on execution. But it's writing is so dumb, it almost transcends into being something worthwhile. If you can get it cheap it's fun just to explore and see the ridiculousness of the setting and story.

I only purchased to game to support the developers behind Cartel Simulator. When I bought this game it was nowhere near as good as cartel simulator I figured out of respect I would not submit the review for this horrible game! This game have far too much dialogue, Not enough sex, and the gameplay is pathetic! ITK Never finished Cartel simulator but started a new game and Never Meet Your Heroes sux! I definitely wont be playing their newer title!

Obvious laziness on animations, Lack of animations. "Example" MC *Bates* way too much, instead of s*x acts with women in most scenes. Too much Simp behavior/ Loser mentality when it comes to progressing romance steps with different ladies. I do really like the overall concept of the story... Too bad they poorly executed this.

This ♥♥♥♥ is so unrefined that it should be still in early access also the last update was in November 2023 plus the cheats is not easy to get so don`t bother supportting this dev on Patreon.

Essentially, you're Isekai'd from a fantasy world into a universe of superheroes, where women hold all the power and treat men as slaves. The catch is that the superheroes abuse their powers and do what they want. [*]The story is easy to follow but contradicts itself constantly. It will often throw it's own logic out of the window for the sake of it, or more often than not to just set up a NSFW scene. Given the type of game it is it's not surprising but with the amount of text you will often have to sit through you would expect a bit more consistency. [*]"I usually train topless" is a real line in this game, it's also followed by her taking her pants off because it makes her kicks better. [/list] [h1]Gameplay[/h1] [list] [*]It's mainly text driven and when you do finally get to "play" after the intro, you pick a background for your character that changes stats but has no real impact either way. [*]Most of the gameplay consists of you clicking locations on a map, some of which are time-gated or locked by a stat/item check. [*]It has a time management type system that makes little sense and is mostly just meaningless. You can pass time as you need, sleep for a week even, and suffer no consequences. Time passes when you work, explore, fight or interact with characters. [*]You can spam work options to build up money which you can use to buy items you may need, or for certain NSFW scenes. [*]You can build up stats seemingly endlessly although you will reach a point where you just don't need to anymore pretty quickly. Stats can be trained at specific locations, some requiring money or items and some being unlocked after certain story points. [*]Combat is a basic turn based system, you have the option to basic attack, use abilities that you can learn after levelling up, use items you can buy around the map and craft serums that give you abilities. But honestly, just level up your stats at the gym and spam basic attack. Every fight will be over in like 2 or 3 hits. And a few familiar acharacters will pop up, Dogmeat from Fallout 4 for one, Daenerys, Triss and some Cyberpunk characters in the background. I'm sure there is others. [*]Character models resemble exaggerated Skyrim body mods, with only a couple of characters that could come across as remotely normal looking. [*]Backgrounds are simplistic, basic and just uninteresting. Menus, icons and the absurd amount of text boxes you are going to see just look cheap with no personality. [*]Animations look awkward and unnatural with physics often being over the top and very loose. In non-NSFW scenes, characters move sluggishly and disconnected often being hilariously bad and often making you wonder why you are still watching it. With combat, the character will sit idle, play an attack animation and then snap back into an idle pose. [*]Your more NSFW scenes are where most of the work went, not the worst I've seen but not top-notch either. Some of the movements just don't make any sense and look awkward, while often some of the more "detailed anatomy' has some noticeable animation issues at moments, and when you notice it, it certainly raises an eyebrow, [/list] [b]Audio[/b] [list] [*]There is voice acting but it's pretty minimal, and conveniently they give the AI character and AI voice. Aside from that there is comical fight sounds and the odd NSFW noise that just sounds unnecessary. Meh Don't pay full price if you really want to play it. It's a bug fest.

This is the sequel of "Master of the Earth". The first game is also on Steam, and I should have played it before this one, although it's not really necessary. It has a lot of content, it has also some grind but is bearable, some side quests that are very good, and the 3D models are thicc and gorgeous. There is one path that you may miss (I did), but I make a lot of saves, so you would want to save just before you make a deal about [strike]Gertrude[/strike] with the giantess. At the time of this review, [b]achievements don't work[/b].
