About
A retro open-world monster tamer with rage-inducing boss fights. Solo developed.
Brutally difficult. Not for everyone.
100% Deterministic – Zero RNG: No critical hits, no accuracy rolls, and no random damage ranges.
Battle Transparency: See opponent moves, items, abilities, and stats mid-battle.
Competitive-Grade AI: Face Alphalnx, a ruthless opponent driven by multi-turn lookahead and battle simulations.
Based on Real-World Wildlife
Every creature in the game (known as a Lnx) is uniquely designed based on real-world wildlife and features locally inspired naming.

Neuralnx Theme
The game's core lore centers on a neural chip known as the Neuralnx. On the Island of Koral, people have begun using this chip to host Lnx Battles.
The Most Advanced Battle AI
Alphalnx is a multi-pillar AI that evaluates attack sequences, switches, sacrifices, and setup moves through multi-turn lookahead.
Battle Move Simulations
Instead of relying on random weights or predetermined if-else logic, Alphalnx makes decisions by running hundreds of simulations through the actual battle engine to forecast the best possible outcomes.
Alphalnx has zero awareness of game mechanics; it just uses the battle engine to find win paths. Most of the effort used in development was focused on improving Alphalnx, and it was inspired by the success of AlphaGo against the South Korean Go world champion Lee Sedol.

Intentional Weakness
Alphalnx is so strong that it has to be intentionally weakened through its team setups to give the player a chance of winning. This handicap is gradually reduced as you progress, and eventually you'll face Alphalnx at full strength.
Strategic Resource Management (PP)
It was through the process of balancing Alphalnx that I discovered the strategic importance of PP in turn-based games. No other turn-based game currently leverages PP to create a challenging yet winnable experience. By intentionally limiting Alphalnx's PP usage, the player gains a meaningful incentive to learn when to be on offense and when to play defense. Without PP control — especially in the early game — players could never defeat Alphalnx.
100% Deterministic Combat
With zero RNG, every battle outcome rests entirely on your decisions. However, this is a double-edged sword: because the battle is purely deterministic, Alphalnx can calculate flawless, 100% guaranteed win paths if you make a mistake.
Zero Knowledge of Player Moves
Alphalnx is brilliant, but it doesn't cheat. It cannot read your inputs. If it knew your moves in advance, your chances of winning would drop to zero. The only variable Alphalnx cannot perfectly predict is human decision-making. You must outsmart the AI—because without your input, there is no game.
Comparative Stats of Current Combatants
The Stats Scene lets you inspect your opponent's ability, held item, all four moves (with PP, type, power, and category), and compare stats side by side mid-battle. Alphalnx knows all of this — so should you.
Rich Field Effect UI
The battle UI displays remaining turns for weather, terrain, rooms, traps, sleep, and barriers. You always know exactly when effects expire.
On-the-Fly Type Effectiveness
The move selection screen clearly displays type matchups, aiding your decision-making without requiring you to memorize external charts.
Punishing but Fair Difficulty
Calling Neuralnx the "Dark Souls of creature-collection games" is an understatement. This is a grueling, battle-oriented experience. It plays closer to Sekiro—forcing you to overcome challenges using skill and strategy rather than over-leveling or overwhelming the enemy with sheer numbers.
Bonfire Checkpoints
Progression is hard-earned. You can only save your game at designated bonfires. If your entire team faints, you will awaken at the last bonfire you rested at.
Triumph Through Trial and Error
Failing, adapting, and trying again is central to the experience. Victory requires learning the AI's patterns and perfecting your execution.
Strict "Set" Battle Style
Just as Alphalnx isn't warned about your next move, you don't get free information or a free switch-in when an enemy is defeated. Battles flow seamlessly.
No Mid-Battle Consumables
Neither the player nor Alphalnx can use healing items or other consumables as a move option in battle — they are completely removed from the game. Held items, however, are fully allowed.
Exploration-Based Roster
Every Lnx you acquire is a deliberate reward for exploring the world or defeating bosses. There is no grinding for random encounters to build your team.
Unlockable Capacity
You start with limited resources. Both your active Team Slots and storage Box Slots must be found as loot to expand your capacity over time.
Tactical Team Restrictions
By strictly limiting your Team Slots early on, you cannot brute-force encounters with a numbers advantage. You must defeat the enemy using the exact capacity you have earned.
Meaningful Combat Rewards
There are no traditional shops to buy your way out of a tough spot. Vital items, skill upgrades, and progression materials are earned exclusively through exploration and overcoming difficult foes.
Fast Battle Forfeits
The most important feature in Neuralnx that isn't present in any other creature-collection game. A single misstep against Alphalnx, and you'll already know — or feel — that the fight is lost. If you made the wrong move in your battle plan, Alphalnx will find it. Every battle takes multiple attempts as you search for the weakness embedded in Alphalnx's team setup (see Intentional Weakness above). Forfeiting early is part of the trial-and-error journey toward overcoming Alphalnx.
Universal EXP Share (No Grinding)
Experience is shared across all Lnx you've collected — even those stored in your boxes. This gives you the freedom to prepare various team setups to take on Alphalnx without any grinding.
Instant Post-Battle Healing
After every battle, your team's HP, PP, and status conditions are automatically and fully restored. Consumable held items are also returned to your inventory.
No Wild Encounters
Random grass encounters are gone. All creatures are visible in the overworld.
Learn Moves and Abilities via Skill Books
Moves and abilities can be learned through Skill Books, which are earned via exploration and combat.
Moves Switchable Anytime
You can switch moves in the overworld at any time.
Abilities Switchable Anytime
You can switch abilities in the overworld at any time.

Extremely bad first impression. Very clearly used AI generated art and music, and everything is needlessly slow. It takes a long time to turn on the overworld, which makes no sense and just slows down the game for no reason.
Wouldnt even play this if they paid me to
This is not creature collection. They just throw a pet into your face and say "hey use this to fight 30 other guys over there to beat the game", no other choices, can't catch or change to another one. Those trainers are even not lined up from low to high levels, we have to use our turtle speed to walk and talk to each of them, then got beaten the shjt out of us multiple times until we find one guy with same level as ours. Not to mention that he has at least 2 pets, to switch counter us which they call "their proud AI" in description. UI and graphic other than the pets in fight is very very bad too. They are very big squares which need to sit miles away from the screen to figure out what they are, especially pet's elements.
I really enjoy the game so far. At first it plays more like a puzzle rather than a monster tamer, but the process is very interesting and engaging. Monster design is brilliant as well.
Great game. It works exactly as the steam page describes it. I've only won a few fights so far, but it really does work more like a puzzle game than a strategy game and I mean that as praise. Having a lot of fun with it and the feeling of finally winning a fight sparks a ton of joy. And for the price it is an absolute deal
