UI is complete garbage. Tutorial is complete garbage. Clicked around for 5 minutes and had absolutely no idea what to do. Also, when i first clicked 'play' it said i need java and took me to the website to download it. Remind me which century we are in again... Not even close to being worth £12, i dont know which planet these people live on.
Well, this "game" was supposed to be a real time naval battle simulator. In fact, this is actually a pre alpha version of naval skirmishes. As simulation, the game is almost a complete wreckage : clunky UI, awkward mechanics, poor (and non historical) ship modeling, and there are not a lot of them, btw ... The dev proudly announces a "multitude" of battleships in the EA description. In fact, they are ... 11, and I am generous since the Hood is a battle cruiser, the Vanguard never knew a single day of war, the Gneisenau being often labeled as battle cruiser ... When it comes to the tactics, it is quite simple to learn : your ships follow the one you "drive". That's all, like a family of ducks on a pond ... No waypoints neither. :( As well, do not be fooled by one of the videos : there are no plane in the game. The dev posted one of them, beeing probably some sort of behavioral test. Last but not the least : no save. Yes, you read it well : no save. Even on genesis games, 30 years ago, there were saves ! Now, imagine you start a campaign, and you realize that you are doomed to finish it. No laugh, please. This game popped up on Steam in february 2020, and enjoyed a single update in april 2020. Since then, there have been ZERO updates, not even one to correct the existing spelling mistakes and typos (and there are a huge lot of them), even when the dev put a date on his promises, and he wrote dates on the steam forum. None were fulfilled. He used every excuse to justify his inactivity, even blaming the community for not buying enough copies of his game ... Sounds like a blackmail to me. Recently, he even blamed Putin for his lack of updates, go figure... almost laughable. Take note that, in the EA description, the dev justifies it by “I want to listen to the community to make improvements on gameplay and create a better game.”, and not something close to earn money to complete a pre alpha game. As you guess, he cannot find some time to write some code lines, but he still manages to find some to answer on the forum about the updates. Beeing short on excuses, he recently wrote on a thread that, after all, nothing could force him to finish its game since its in early access. Now that's cynical ! If the guy was really honest, he would say "I am sorry, I made a terrible mistake starting something I could not handle, I will not be able to finish it, nor to pay you back. All I can do now is to stop this now and ask Steam to remove the game from the store" Alas, it did not happen ! Now, all what we have now is a scam, no less, and the only ambition of the dev is to bamboozle players and try to make as much money as possible, since the game will never be finished. In my opinion, the game should be removed from the store asap. As you can guess, my advice is not to buy it, but instead to wait for "ultimate admirals : dreadnought" (to be honest, this one encounters big development mishaps too, see the discussions there) on Steam, or "Rule the waves 2" on its store. Or even, if you both like early access, ship building and tactical combats, a game I recently discovered and named Navalart : for 12 bucks, you will have a real early access with its 1 real update per month and an active community on discord and in the workshop.

NBS in early access is worth buying it. It is a good game (for a good price), definitely recommend to anyone interested in naval battles and strategy games. The game has hours of gameplay and many features. So far I have played battles and campaign mode. I did not have any problems with a screen resolution and the game did not crash. I play it in a window view. I love the after battles reports, full of statistics and detailed information. The timeline/curtain (in Campaign mode) is very interesting too. I have spent an hour reading letters, historical info, battle reports, and listening to radio broadcasting. I think we should support this indie project.
I have registered on the Steam platform to try Naval Battles Simulator game. I am happy I did so :-)The game has lots of to offer even at this Early access stage.I have played battles and Campaign. (I have ended WWII in 977 days ;-)In the beginning, I had set Campaign in CPU vs CPU mode and played battles. Later on, I have created campaign myself.I do recommend this game to all naval gaming enthusiasts.
This reminds me of an SSI game from the nineties called Great Naval Battles of the North Atlantic. It was a remarkably deep strategy game that really captured the desperation and uncertainty of the longest battle of WWII. I have high hopes for this game.

I I'm 70 yrs old and played several strategic games. After a poor start I found the manual on steam. i am now getting into this game. it is a complicated but worth while game I would recommend you try it.
FIrst time I have ever refunded a game, the interface is poor and the manual produced sheds little light on how to play the game. I realise it is early access and may well have potential but as is, not recommended.
Dont buy this Game , it is not supportet from the Developer. No Patch since 2 Years!!!...and only promisses ... Please to all.... request Steam to remove this game... we dont need sutch Developer.... Afre more then 2 years without a update. but a lot of promisses from the developer..... The game is dead!!.
