Note: This review may resemble my review for Freddy Spaghetti 2.0, but if the developer has no problems copying + pasting their entire game, nobody should be complaining about reviews for identical games appear identical. Freddy Spaghetti is a somewhat unusual console ported low poly hybrid physics/action puzzle game and platformer. The premise of the game is that you control the titular "Freddy", a sentient string of pasta, by flicking each end of the noodle to make the pasta jump from point to point, hit various hotspots and so on. The actual gameplay is so simplistic in nature that I was surprised to see this isn't a mobile app. The low poly graphics may look incredibly familiar if you've spent even a fraction of the time I have slumming the dredges of the video game industry... because they're all Synty asset packs. But guess what... this isn't an asset flip, the developers actually credited Synty for doing all the work for the game visuals. Kudos to what may be the first and only game developer to not rip off Synty's work and pretend it's his own. I wish more developers would do the right thing and properly credit the people who make these games happen. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. Because this is a console game, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. That's right, only 6. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason... it's a console game, it's low poly, and we're sick to death of Synty asset packs. Freddy Spaghetti is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This probably would do quite well on the mobile app stores, but if you're reading Steam reviews for games, you're probably looking for a PC game to play, and this isn't it.

Silly game with simple controls yet challenging stages that are just fair enough. If the game's name is not enough of a hint, you play a spaghetti named Freddy. You were always an average spaghetti, but you had the good fortune of living in the home of a scientist who invented a contraption that gives objects consciousness. When you unintentionally fell out when the scientist was preparing dinner, you were chosen as the test subject. This is a collection of small tasks that need you to fulfill an objective. You do this by pressing two buttons for either end of a spaghetti and aim where you want to go. Although you can go where you want by pressing only one button, using both buttons is faster. It is comparable to the way worms move. However, the spaghetti will also need to jump, which is accomplished by holding down one or both buttons. Again, holding both buttons provides the greatest height. Aiming is fine, however there is some randomness because the spaghetti might slightly left or right of your desired path. The game has a small story and takes place across 50 stages. They are divided into five distinct areas, such as the starting house, city, and so on. It begins when Freddy searches the internet for the purpose of spaghetti. When it discovers that they are being eaten, it swells in size and begins wreaking havoc around the city. Progress is enjoyable since it requires you to accomplish something new each time. For example, you must smash flowers in the park, push a toolbox to a marker, or escape from cops. Regardless of the objective, the final step is to always reach a goal circle. A cool narrator with a sentence or two in each stage adds to the charm. Difficulty is fair, however several objectives are based on physics, which may cause irritation. One of the early phases includes a ball being pushed into a goal, but simply touching it sends it flying forward. However, the stages are mixed, so you may struggle with one and then breeze through the next ten stages. Despite some small struggles with controls, the game is not that long and can be beaten in less than two hours. Each stage rewards you with an achievement, and there are a few easy extra stages.
Love this story, honestly.. It's just nice.. It's good.. You play as Freddy and the Narrator is his creator and you follow through all the trials and tribulations of life.. A lot of easy(ish) levels.. A lot of hard and super frustrating levels.. I'm pretty sure I said one level was more difficult than playing Dark Souls.. I've seen a lot of people talk about frame drops and being bored - I wasn't and had absolutely no issues whatsoever.. I loved the humour.. For the price I would definitely recommend, it's cute, exciting, and you get caught up in the story which I love! Thanks Dr Pasta for the opportunity to play this game :) I created a Highlight Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYA4DmenCR0
for the first time in my life i really felt like i was spaghetti......i rate it a 7 out of M
Amazing masterpiece 10/10. This game was able to display action, adventure, horror, drama, sadness. This game surpasses masterpieces such as Red Dead Redemption 2 with its story telling, Elden Ring with its difficulty, and the Batman Arkham games for its gameplay. This game grabbed its small budget, and managed to create an absolute gaming masterpiece. The difficult gameplay always had you on edge, trying so hard not to die. The story pulled you in, making you happy and sad. In the short time I've had this game, I've cried many tears, broken many monitors, and paid all my attention. This game is incredible, truly a once in a lifetime experience. This game is the single greatest game ever made
Let me get it clear. The game isn't bad, certainly it is not. It has a charming art style, (for the most part) the controls are simple and nice and the story is whacky, but fun. Yet I need to warn you. If you want to get a silly casual game where you can enjoy the history of a certian italin nuddle, with no rather difficulty, you would be wrong here. As a professional casual gamer and rage quitter, who loves to avoide stress, I NEED to say that some levels got the worst language imaginable out of me. No kidding, I insulted the devs mother more than I would like to admit. My apologys btw. Yeah, but I still had some really good fun and I dont recret invisting my 79 cents into this game Though I am hardly disapointed, while I like to collect achivments so that my "perfect game number" goes up to one, I had to learn the harsh truth, that this games doesn't count as a perfect game. Like c'mon steam Edit: It counts now! 10/10
vraiment le game of the year qu'il pense être slay freddy
gioco strano, particolare e divertente. consigliato
Thanks Indiegala for having this in a bundle, a hidden gem of an indie game that I would probably have missed if not stumbling upon it there. "I am Bread" with a better story maybe? Worth picking up if you like a weird challenge.
