Crafting farming game with focus on the crafting (majority of progression is "build that machine from multitple parts for this person"). It does a lot of things right, like there is full craft from chest, stack from chest, you can even get a helper later in game to help you with some of the stuff, graphics are cute and story is decent. There is some dating and a bunch of events to participate in. Overall one of the best titles in the genre if you prefer to be more on crafting rather than farming side

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TLDR : A step down from it's predecessor. And still riddled with bugs that will cause you to force close it and restart the day. Fix your game instead of trying to cash grab with cosmetics. A disappointment compared to its previous installment. I struggled to finish this multiple times and as much as I wanted to like it but just couldn't. It's bigger map but feels less lived in and ignored (even as you progress) so it's just depressing and empty, coming from someone who lives in a desert. You're even more of a tool throughout the story in MTAS than MTAP and it's just....sad. All that could've been looked over if it wasn't still riddled with bugs. Memory leaks still happen randomly which will cause your game to crash. Constant bugs and pathing issues such as trying to progress story lines but can't because the people you're trying to interact with are walking into a pole somewhere causing you force close. Still not fixed. Yet they want to try to make their next game where you can place your town buildings yourself? What? Sounds like a mess. Oh and to the fanboys and girls defending the devs, i'll be ready with a bag of popcorn upon Evershine's release to laugh at you.
Até então, o meu favorito da franquia! Tenho mais de 100h em My time at Portia e, quando anunciaram o lançamento de Sandrock, fiquei doida para jogar.
"seen any cool rocks lately?" "yeah, i saw a really great one not long ago" "can....i see it?" "it looked pretty comfortable where it was, so i left it there"
Okay, normally I would finish the game first, but today I'm just mad. There are so many small things from bugs, stupid friction, and grind that when it hits you all at once, it just doesn't feel finished or thought through to the end. The same as the previous game, many small things that together really can kill your day. If your game runs too long or sometimes even after a short time of play, the NPCs start behaving strangely, teleporting, and sounds from your machines can be heard indoors in any house; restarting the game is then the only fix. Shadow or altogether, lightning behaves sometimes really funky, sometimes more, sometimes less, even with different PCs. Voice acting is inconsistent. What I mean is some talk with voice and then again not. I really wish they would have used voice only for events and cutscenes. The cool auto-targeting feature in building mode turns itself on every time, even so, it's marked as off. It is annoying because it turns the camera for every little thing you move around. Sometimes after missions, the background music disappears, the only way to get it back is by restarting the game because it's even gone in the main menu. Stupid grinds and bottlenecks like Salt that you need to buy, but you can only buy a small amount every day for no reason, so you need to run every day to both NPCs to buy Salt and other ingredients for cooking. Other stupid things are petrified wood, which the NPCs seem to love; there are every day at least 2 commissions for items with it, but there are only around 12 trees in the desert if you take all, which takes the whole day. On that note, why are over 90% of the commissions not building-related? I mean, we are there to build things, but most times they want ingots and planks in different variations and a few times nails here and there. Why is there even a smith and carpenter in town? I could go on, but I am just too annoyed today about the game. The things feel just not really finished or unpolished? While all the things I encountered while playing alone would not be so bad, today it was just extremely annoying; it just feels too grindy, and let's not talk about the insane grind of the Social Knowledge skill. I will probably still finish the game because I can't stop myself from it after already having played this far and for having the notion of finishing games even though I have way too many games to be forced to play the game till the end even though I lost the interest to a bad level, and that habit from the past with just a few games is hard to get rid of. All in all the game is not positive nor entirely negative, but since we have only 2 options, it's definitely negative. PS: It really doesn't help that I can get items for Monster Whisperer DLC even though I don't have that one, even the menus are there, just not usable. I don't know if I will bother to change it later or rewrite it. It depends on how the rest of the game and story turns out maybe it gets a nice comeback. I had it in some other games in the past; we will see if it's one of them.
Jack of all trades, master of none. Unfortunately Sandrock tries to be an "everything" game, but doesn't do any of the mechanics particularly well. Farming is fine. Combat is fine. Fishing is fine. Building is fine. Minigames are fine. I feel like they should have just focused on a couple of systems and did them really well, instead of having 100 mediocre game mechanics. Character creation sucks - it's like the sort of thing you'd see in a DS game 20 years ago. There are a *handful* of face/hair types, and there's no body customisation so you'll always look like a kid. It just seems out of place in a game with very stylised NPCs. I'm supposed to take a relationship seriously when I look like a kid and my partner looks like an adult? There's also a ton of standing around waiting - shops close at a certain time, crafting/smelting has a timer, research has a timer. It's not bad but it's very much a 6/10 and doesn't do anything particularly well. Needs mods to make it fun.
