About

Akiyama Momoka is an ordinary girl who lives on a small, rabbit-filled island called Omorishima with her parents and her bratty little sister, Mikan. She works part-time as a maid at a small seaside café alongside the bombastic Saya and the dour Yukie, but she has dreams far grander than that. Momoka adores girly romance manga, and she wants nothing more than to become an artist herself, and a writer of sweet love stories...
But how can she tell such a story when she's never been in love before?
Summer comes to Omorishima, and Momoka's hopes swell with it. She knows, despite her sister's teasing, that there must be a prince out there for her. She's determined to find him this year, and with his support write a wonderful romance story.
Then, on one sunny morning, while she's walking to work, Momoka meets a handsome boy on the beach. She feels drawn to him at once, and she's certain he must be the one she has been waiting for...
But Momoka soon learns that his handsome boy is, in fact, a handsome girl.
The girl's name is Hattori Aoi, and though she lives in Tokyo, she will be living in Omorishima for two weeks while her overworked father takes a much-needed vacation.
Aoi begins to work at the same café as Momoka, she lives in the same house, and as time wears on, Momoka finds herself growing closer to Aoi than she ever imagined. Aoi might be a girl, but she's even more princely than the love interests from Momoka's favorite romance stories.

I really wanted to like this. I thought I was going to! A picturesque island, good art, a cute tomboy, fun premise: all the ingredients were there for me to really get a kick out of this! So what went wrong? A writer who takes schtick too far happened. At first, the teasing of this spoiled protagonist seemed good natured. It was doubtless intended to be. Sure she had a bratty sister and coworkers who had caustic personalities. I didn't mind at first. But over time.... it's unrelenting. It just keeps going on and on and on. Everyone but her love interest just lays it on thick at all times. At some point, it goes from comedic to really uncomfortable and all the way into straight bullying, and even her family, who love her, seem to reinforce this inferior self-image. There's just no kind words sent her way except for the love interest. And there's little to balance that onslaught. It feels like the reader is meant to be in on it, accepting her as inferior. I'm over halfway through, but we don't see much of her strengths. We see that she draws, but nobody seems to appreciate it (save the love interest). There's no indication she's good at it. She's just a punching bag to the world, and the writer seems to have missed that you have to balance this. You have to let the reader see something special in the main character if you're going to have everyone dogpiling her. And the love interest, who doesn't say these things, just kinda smiles and laughs through it all. It just comes off as she's the recipient of unceasing bullying and maybe we're to believe she deserves it....? And she seems to internalize it. She looks down on herself almost as much as everyone else. At some point enough becomes enough, and I'm long past that point with no end in sight. On the other hand, I'm not convinced even the author likes her. She's portrayed mostly as being spoiled and unlikable. So maybe the idea is that she's being bullied because she deserves it? But then what am I even reading this for? Yes, there's a romance involved, but when everyone outside of the immediate family and requisite love interest looks at her as a piece of crap, even the family only sees her failings and seem to love her more out of duty than anything else, and we're not really given anything to like about her, what am I supposed to conclude? I honestly can't tell. Ugh. What a disappointment.

a good Visual Novel. can recommend it. sweet girls. the price of this game is in offer for -50% alright.
It's gonna be a neutral review. It's inevitable I enjoyed ebi-hime's writing but some (or better to say too many) characters were unbearably annoying. I realize chars can't be perfect to look realistic but some traits are just too triggering. Praises : +This novel has achievements and they count \o/ it's frustrating how rarely I see it for the visual novels I read T_T But in this case it's plus one perfect game for my steam collection! <3 That's more than the reason enough to buy it :D https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3528180836 +If I got it right this game was a shift from typical ebi-hime's dark novels to something cute. Judging it from this perspective it was a really welcome change :D I mean I love all her novels, and the one that hurt me a lot, at least I was too emotional to get an unforgettable experience, it's always appreciated but sometimes it's nice to indulge myself in some silly slice-of-life too. +It's a yuri novel (nothing explicit) and I'm not a fan of this genre at all. But even I found lots of moments adorable and romantic. Complaints : --Lots of annoying characters and scenes. Perhaps it's personal but sometimes it was disgustingly unbearable. I could make a looong list of such sickening examples but I don't want to write anything spoilerish. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3552590503 --Some typos but I'm sure they are gonna be edited. So, it can be a short, sweet read if you don't expect much and treat it as a silly slice-of-life story of people with too many flaws :D

[th]More thoughts about the game in a Reading Nook [/th]

waiter! waiter! more cute ebi-hime yuri slop please!!!
My Dear Prince is a very good visual novel game with a beautiful story. The graphics are nice and the soundtrack is relaxing... The ebi-hime games are really great!!! I highly recommend it. 💗
My Dear Prince is a kinetic yuri visual novel that portrays the warmth and softness of first love. It tells a heartwarming, slice-of-life story filled with tender moments in an overall light, humorous tone. From the girls’ first encounter to the unexpected developments that follow, the writing remains sweet and cozy. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3641325198 You play as Momoka, a 17-year-old girl who falls in love at first sight with a handsome boy she meets by chance at the beach. Soon after, she discovers that this “boy“ is actually Aoi, the daughter of a close family friend who has come to visit for two weeks. What Momoka initially assumes to be a stuck-up city girl from Tokyo turns out to be quite the opposite: Aoi is relaxed, modest, and slightly tomboyish. She treats everyone with kindness and always sees the positive side of every situation. As they begin their cohabitation in the same bedroom and Aoi takes a temporary job at the café where Momoka works, their relationship gradually deepens into something more meaningful. The romance is slow-burn and non-explicit. There are a few innocent kiss scenes, and even those are described in a non-sexual way. Much of the narrative focuses on Momoka trying to cope with her feelings for Aoi, her attraction to her and her insecurity about a potentially unrequited love. This inner conflict is complicated further by a rivalry with the most popular girl in town, who also sets her eyes on Aoi, without being aware of her gender. This character is the source of a lot of comedic scenes, as she is repeatedly told the truth but refuses to process it due to her own arrogance. Still, in keeping with the game’s joyful and kind-hearted tone, even this minor antagonist receives a satisfying character arc centered on personal growth and self-awareness of her own mistakes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3641325405 In addition to the main romance, the story features a secondary couple whose relationship is just as innocent and charming as the leads. The chemistry between all the characters is top-notch, from romantic tension to family dynamics. Especially noteworthy is the explosive but affectionate relationship between Momoka and her deaf younger sister, who is like a little devil filled with love, bringing both chaos and humor to the scenes in a very endearing way. My Dear Prince is set in Omorishima, a fictional quaint town on a small Japanese island that also serves as setting for ebi-hime’s two other visual novels: How to Melt a Maiden’s Heart and Out of the Ocean. While the events of the three titles happen in the same town, their stories are independent, connected only through brief references, character name-drops, and a small crossover scene. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3641325483 My Dear Prince is overall a heartwarming experience that will keep you busy for around 7-9 hours. With a satisfying pacing and uplifting writing, this cozy emotional journey is easy to recommend to anyone looking for a chill read centered on first love - as long as you don’t mind the queer content.
A fun, well written, light and frothy kinetic novel. As ebi says in her author's notes, this is a bit of a departure from her creepier work, and you have to go into this knowing that what you are getting is some enjoyable time in an interesting location with broadly-written characters. It succeeds wonderfully at this goal. A relaxing read with fun prose.
This is my 3rd ebi-hime vn, and probably my favorite one so far. The cast of characters is very cute and diverse, the art and music is fun too. It's very sweet and heartwarming, but not so overly fluffy that it's suffocating in cuteness. Definitely pick it up if you enjoy light happy yuri stuff
