is like suffering, but instead of stress, you get anime girls
Lewd scenes aside, this is a pretty solid grinding game at its core, not unlike something from the Disgaea franchise. If you like the Neptunia games or Disgaea, this is definitely worth a check out, though not exactly something I'd introduce to somebody who isn't down for self-referential and self-deprecating anime otaku culture humor.
To keep it short, this is absolutely not a good game. It is very dull, with all environments feeling computer generated, unapologetically simply story and characters, incredibly weird progression (thanks to high level gear just being given to you), resulting in an incredible grind to progress beyond these items, that can be significantly reduced through the purchase of some of the dlc) and in general has a very cheap feel to it
No. This game is both shallow and grindy and even I can’t be bothered to try for 100%. I got the true ending and I’m done. I looked at a couple of sites and apparently I would need to sink at least another 200 hours to grind my way to 100% completion and that could be as much as 500 additional hours. No thanks. I do like the characters and I would be willing to spend more time in a game like this, if it wasn’t so grindy. You have to grind levels, you have to grind Moe Kills to upgrade your ship, you have to grind gold to upgrade your equipment, you have to grind another currency to upgrade your skills. None of it feels rewarding while doing it, so it feels like a chore rather than a game I’m playing to have fun. Furthermore, there are way too many features and it you almost have to read guides to figure out what to do, but this doesn’t add to a deep experience, as each of the features were are still very shallow. The Moe Kill is especially irritating and I don’t know how anyone is expected to pick up the game and figure it out without either using a guide and treating the game like homework. Again, I play video games to have fun and this system was not fun. Most of the other similar systems, like Blast Off and Fever Time, can be ignored, but you NEED Moe Kills to beat the game. Also, the game crashed, a lot. There’s enough positive here that I can see a good game in this mess, which is the worst part about it.
Can't recommend this game to people who like other titles from these makers. On the surface: The game crashed quite some times on me and you can get softlocked in certain areas (like Metal world, behind boxes) and at least one of the shops was buggy, sadly the important one. More on the subjective side, negative: - The story didn't do anything for me. I skipped over 80% of the dialogue (thanks for the button for autoskip) except for when one of the Big Bads was voiced by Jamieson Price. Actually quite some namely people gave their voice for the characters. My ears are sad now. - The story was also not motivating enough for me to finish the game after the 3rd crash in like 30 minutes of gameplay in the last third or even less of the game. - Very repetetive, lots of backtracking, some game mechanics are not obvious at first, even with soldiering on through dialogue. - If you had the opportunity to get good equipment through DLC, you never really need anything else you find. The shops are either too slow in opening up new stuff or you need lower-tier items to purchase some higher-tier ones. The game didn't register when I found or bought the necessary items to get certain high-tier things. - The custom peons were a nice thing to add but in my opinion completely useless. The fusion system either didn't work for me or the change was so neglectable that I rather used the story-chars anyway. Even fusing peons with lvl 150+ didn't make much of a difference. Maybe I'm blind though. Gave up after 3 tries. positive: - Because of the free DLC that came with my version, I had TONS of good equipment, points and money that made me reach close to the end of the game because I could level up whatever I wanted almost as much as I wanted - The Moe Kill system was actually fun to try yourself on, but it got too repetetive at about halfway through the game - The drawn characters were cute and had enough of their personality visually represented in themselves and their clothes I honestly think I would've stopped playing far far sooner if it wasn't for the voice acting and the DLCs that came for free
Imagine censoring a large part of the game and 120 cg just because you don't know how to do your job, i hate nisa
Mugen Souls is a good game, i recommend it to anyone who wants to play it
There isn't enough I can say about how good this game is. First, if any of you enjoyed the Disgaea series you will instantly fall in love with this. The hours of game play fly by. The humor is even more irreverent and adult than Disgaea. The airship battles are stunning. The game about making everybody love the main character ends up making everybody outside the game who gives it even half a chance fall in love with the game itself. 60 + hours on the short end of pure gaming pleasure to get the true ending. If done properly, much like Disgaea, the game can stretch onward for 1,000 + hours just finding the upper limits of how you can utterly break the game and seeing just how much damage you can truly inflict. The musical scores are very well done and are as fittingly whimsical as the cast of characters and story. It is easily one of the best games of all time. Don't just take my word for it. Buy this game and experience the joy and madness that is Mugen Souls.
pretty good game also the dlc are crazy
