The gameplay is just, click everything on the screen until something happens. There's no real puzzle solving to it. Basically every screen is a very abstract, convoluted web of players clicking one thing, to trigger another thing which lets them click another thing to trigger another thing and so on. It's just one long chain of events, but there's zero logic to any of those events. Players are just expected to mess around, clicking on everything and using everything on everything else until they randomly figure it out. It's not designed to be an intuitive or even comprehensible system of solving puzzles and using clues; the player is just meant to guess. This does this which allows you to do this and none of the this makes any sense to be connected in any sort of way. This only goes so far before the player runs out of options and the abstract pseudo-puzzles become so abstract that you can't even stumble onto their solution anymore without entire luck. Even looking up the solution in a guide, it's still actually hard to tell what the solution is because it's difficult to even figure out what happened to trigger what. Sometimes it just looks like the player was doing the same thing over and over until eventually it suddenly worked. Which technically is this whole thing. The art direction and animation are all beautiful but this is hardly a game. There's no comprehensible system or logic for the player to interact or follow, they're entirely meant to just click things until they get it right on accident. Which is fine at first, but it doesn't take long before it very easily breaches into being completely uninterpretable. There's zero fun in just clicking on everything that's visible until something changes and advances the screen all with the player have no idea or control over what's really supposed to be happening here.

I was surprisingly satisfied. I truly enjoyed playing this game. Challenging but not too hard. Loved the art work, colors, setting, and sounds. Worth the price although I bought it for 50% off. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys a point/click/drag puzzle style game.
I loved this game. It's quaint and charming with very dream-like imagery. Do the puzzles always make sense? No. Did I get stuck a bunch of times? Yes. Like a lot? Yes. But I did thoroughly enjoy playing it.
Mr Shadow is a mediocre "surreal" 2D point and click puzzle/adventure game. The two key problems: lack of proper widescreen support, and poorly put together gameplay and puzzles. It's really not clear what you're supposed to do at any given point in time, which works against the general goal for adventure games to be fun/interesting rather than frustrating or annoying. It's also unclear why games released relatively recently, just like this one, don't have basic support for modern PCs, like widescreen resolution support. The overall lack of quality prevents me from recommending this.
Beautiful little game that reminds me of Amanita Design approach to storytelling. Unfortunately, the puzzles in the second half of the game have significantly affected my experience. Sometimes you are expected to Zoom-In to see hidden interactive elements of the scene, which are invisible, while Zoomed-Out. I have only learned about the Zoom functionality from the walkthrough... This could have been a must-have adventure game if not the puzzles and the absence of visual clues. Looking forward to see more from bycomb, they have good potential.
With great atmosphere and good puzzles, dipping your toes into this excellent adventure is well worth your time.
