I know that a lot of people adore this game and find it very deep and funny, I got involved in this myself after some short videos with best and worst moments of the game, but here is my negative review... Well, I like dark humor, and I'm okay with shocking content in games, I think game is a good instrument for bringing attention to unspoken problems of our societies. But this one disappointed me a lot, and this is my why. It is written weakly. There is no balance between sweet, sour and dark moments, they are not bright enough me to get shocken every now and then. I don't feel much pity for little lady Misfortune because I barely know her and her dysfunctional surroundings. And it's not because she doesn't understand a lot or many of bad things are normal for her, but because game doesn't reach for the depth of the subject. The ending is especially disappointing, cuz why would
her mom get the Ethernal Happiness right after her child gets murdered?? Should I think about it as a resolution for all mom's problems in life???
. Lack of suspense, bland storytelling with weak last act of the game ruined whole experience for me. Little Misfortune didn't shock me, I didn't learn anything from it, it didn't tell me anything about Sweden or life of mixed/Hispanic child living in abusive family. I think other games have done much better cute/horror juxtaposition, so I regret wasting my time on little ninja lady Misfortune and won't recommend it any of my friends.
What a great game! Little misfortune is such an adorable and funny character who loves throwing sparkles on everything and saying yikes forever >•< The story is sad and abit dark and the art is so cute and the voice acting is soooo perfect I could not put this game down hehe! Great storytelling but also made me sad… need more games like this !
Hm what can I say..The game isn't that great really. The "dark humor" was sometimes funny but few of the scenes were just disgusting. But not disgusting in a way "haha he hung himself" but in a way that can be seen as portraying a child sexually.
I'm talking here about the scene when Misfortune rides a horse and the scene where she got stuck in the small window and her buttcheeks just were exposed for no reason. I understand it was supposed to be funny but how? Most of the players are adults or teens so they dont laugh at fart humor anymore. There was no need for that scene.
If it was somehow a methaphor about Misfortune being a SA victim it would be more justifiable. But it isnt. There is no mention or hints about it, its not being talked about in game at all so we can only assume it wasn't the intention. Another reason is I found this game just truly boring. You walk, sometimes can throw glitter or touch few things but thats all. What I did like about this game though, would be the music, surrondings and
the fact that she's been dead the whole game. Her own father being the one that killed her was a huge plus since it made it all a lot more depressing. I also liked the idea of the fox being her spirit guide
I also feel like the choices didn't matter at all but the game and the moment when you had to choose made it look like there would be huge consequences but in reality it wasn't that important. The last thing I feel lacking is the connection to characters. It feels as even though we've been with Misfortune the whole time we dont really know her or her family situation. it would be nice to see more of that side. I reccomend playing it if you got it for free
A sad but beautiful game. Just like Fran Bow, it’s a cute looking but dark psychological horror experience. The storytelling is really strong and the art style fits the tone perfectly. It really feels like you’re stepping into a twisted fairy tale storybook. The music and voice acting also add a lot to the atmosphere and make everything feel even more emotional and memorable. I also liked how the game constantly mixes this innocent, almost childish presentation with really dark and uncomfortable themes underneath. I can definitely recommend it, especially for people who have already played Fran Bow.
deep story, voices were great and engaging but i have to say that when i played this game i fell down the stairs unlucky
A little young girl being led by a friendly voice while trying to find eternal happiness. A mysterious fox might also come into your adventure! Absolutely recommend playing this game! (^-^)~
I love this game! It has so many little things to discover and interact with, making every moment feel interesting. It's super entertaining, full of unexpected choices, and balances dark humor with charming and wholesome moments really well. The story kept me curious from beginning to end, and the characters are memorable and unique. If you enjoy story-driven games with a mix of emotional moments, quirky humor, and a slightly creepy atmosphere, I definitely recommend giving this one a try!
