It's 1788 and Mozart is in Prague. He is giving the inaugural showing of his famous opera, Don Giovanni. The plaudits he receives are universal, but very quickly the events that are shaking the capital of Bohemia will take his mind off the music.

BEWARE - ABSOLUTE SCAM - DO NOT PURCHASE. This is a game from 2008 originally called Mozart: The Conspirators of Prague/Mozart: The Last Secret. It was only released in France on PC. There is NO mention of this on the store page, but it is the exact same game with barely, if any changes, besides being in English. It has the same outdated gameplay, despite developers insisting in the Steam discussion page it is "revamped." To further this absolute extortion, it is priced at $AU42.95 ($30 US). At the very, very least, it should be made explicitly clear on the store page that this is NOT a new game and this price point is a hoax. The game itself is functional, but has aged awfully and English subtitles are completely wrong. I received this through my curator, and am typically very eager to help out Indie developers with honest and constructive feedback, but this marketing is extremely deceitful. Stay away from this game. Strong no. The game is broken, buggy, and frustrating and should not have been released. I'm a bit amazed that I was given a free copy to review it in this state. Really, what were they thinking? The little I was able to experience showed some potential. There is nice voice acting (I played in English; well, tried to play it at least) and the story was obviously crafted with love for Mozart and his world. But it was not crafted with any understanding of how commercial games work. Character movement is slow and clunky. The inventory is so tiny that I could not discern the items, and clicking on those items did not seem to correspond to the visual click box. There are insanely long cut scenes that cannot be skipped -- this includes the opening cut scene (!) as well as those started from misclicks. For example, clicking on a piano will have Mozart play a whole 5-minute piece. This happens every time you click on that piano, even as you do so by mistake while looking for the tiny items that may or may not be on the screen. Yeah, not fun. After two game-breaking bugs (one which was fixed fairly quickly, thankfully) I lost my patience and interest. I strongly recommend that in the future devs do playtesting before asking that people pay for their game.
It is a point and click adventure game with 3d environments and great music. Unfortunately, the characters don't really look like they belong in the world. They look like they jumped out of your PS1 and onto the screen. The puzzles are simple but annoying and the amount of interactable objects is very low. If this were $10, I would give it a thumbs up, at $36.99, it's a no from me, dog. https://youtu.be/9SMmULMvO54
Graphic adventure game, puzzle, dynamic storytelling, investigation, conspiracy, music. PLOT Year 1788 Mozart goes to Prague to meet Johann Haufer the director of the opera. The whole city is in turmoil for the first night of his famous opera "Don Giovanni" at the Nostitz theater. The evening is a great triumph and Mozart receives a lot of applause, but unfortunately he is unable to fully enjoy this success because his mind is clouded with thoughts ... A strange dream haunts him about music and a conspiracy against the Austro-Hungarian emperor Joseph2 ° to which Mozart is very loyal because the emperor is his benefactor. Who wants to remove Joseph 2nd from the throne? And for what reason? Prague is the city of music is very beautiful but also has a dark side: made up of opposing political groups, strange intrigues, hidden places where occult ceremonies take place. But fate is adverse and our friend will find himself accused of murder, he just has to investigate to prove his innocence. Will Mozart, with his talent for music and his genius, be able to unravel this mystery and save the emperor? PLAYABILITY This game, although it has now arrived on steam, it is not new, it was created in 2008, and it can be seen from the fact that when you interact with the various characters the movements are not fluid but a little woody and rigid, moreover it is not always easy to navigate in the rooms . But having played it all I can say that it has positive sides, the graphics are quite beautiful the locations are well reproduced and full of details, with richly decorated rooms and sumptuous furnishings; when you pass through an alley or a bridge it really feels like you are walking in a historical Prague of the 1700s. The music is wonderful a soundtrack entirely chosen to delight us with original pieces by the maestro Mozart. As the plot is very long it will keep you busy for at least 20 hours, there are 18 chapters, so many characters to know with which to interact and interpret. There are many mini-games based on music, you don't need to know the notes, but with a little intuition you can easily solve them, while the puzzles are mechanical I found them logical and with a medium difficulty. There is one thing that is really annoying that I can't skip the initial introduction, I hope they fix this soon. In conclusion I can say that as an experience it was interesting for the plot, playing a Mozart who improvises himself as a detective is intriguing, unfortunately the quality of the product compared to the price is not balanced because there are so many things that should be fixed sometimes you come across small bugs that force you to close and reload the game in order to continue, I recommend that you save often at least for each chapter, by putting these 2 tips into practice you should be able to finish the story. Point & click adventure + great music + voiced = Solve puzzles in 18th century Prague with Mozart music. 1st challenge is how to make coffee. The graphics are dated 3D and pricing is a bit high. An interesting quest.
Follow our curator for similar games
Mozart Requiem is an ancient game from 2008. It's a whopping 16 years old at the time of this review. It was exhumed by the "developers" here, and relaunched on Steam and on Nintendo Switch and consoles... and if it'll run on the Switch, that tells you a lot about what you need to know about the game. Might as well be a mobile app. The game looks and feels dated. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an old game. This seems to have be lingering on Steam with an inflated price to try profit from abandonware. Did you know that Amadeus Mozart was a crime fighter? You're right, he wasn't. But the French developers behind this think he was, and they're wrong. So yeah, it's the 18th century and you solve crimes a Mozart. If you listen carefully, he's spinning in his grave, and it sounds like a concert. This is obviously garbage, it was when it was first made and it definitely is now... but the "developers" want THIRTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS for this 16 year old trash. Seriously. That pretty much puts this out of "oh, it just sucks" and well into "this is some kind of scam" territory. Buyer beware, as always. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Mozart Requiem is INSANELY expensive for an abandonware nostalgia gouge, at $30 USD, and it's not worth it. The game is just too old, hasn't been modernised. And as the old saying goes, you can't go home again. Even when it was new, this was never a triple-A game. This is the kind of game that went almost directly from the warehouse into the cheap bargain bins at the front of the shop. Now, on Steam, without any modernisation? This is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $30 asking price for this game could get you AAA games like "Dark Souls III", "Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord" or "Hogwarts Legacy". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Hopelessly bad remake of the old game, which was in French originally, I believe. Subtitles don't match the voice acting, camera angles are frustrating. There's no describing of the environments or inventory items... It was eleven minutes and thank you, bye!
While the graphics might be a bit retro, the puzzles are definitely worthwhile. I really enjoyed the "fix the score" puzzles. The concept of spy thriller, musical-oriented puzzles is great. I'd to see a sequel with photo-realistic graphics.
