Nevermore is your usual hack and slash that does everything just right. Everything from the movement to the combat! More specifically, the usage of the hook allows you to throw projectiles back, pull enemies, and fly towards them. Combining the hook with your attacks just feels so enjoyable, quick, and just overall easy. However, your enjoyment is very short-lived due to the lack of content it currently has, but it is an early access so you just have to be patient. The game also offers booster packs and a level up system for stats that will boost your damage, health, or magic damage. The booster packs once equipped will grant you unique attacks associated with the mob from the card but once you have unlocked all of them, the game will be significantly easier (I suggest playing the game without booster packs after if you want a challenge). A couple of things that would be interesting to see would be some implementation of a passive or ability that allows you to pick up loot without having to walk over it (I found myself ignoring a lot of loot due to having to walk over each individual orb and bone), some cosmetic items or changes depending on the booster card active, and maybe even implementation of different classes with different abilities to add variation. Overall, the game is extremely enjoyable and I will most definitely find myself playing a lot more once they add more content. I highly recommend purchasing this game but suggest possibly holding out until more content is released.

I have a bit to spit at this game. I know its Early Access, but that is exactly my first problem. I don't think games should have "Early Access" stages. I think its ridiculous and a game should be released when its desired state is met, not before. Sure you want beta testers, but not people that are wanting to play the actual game to play it, when its not even finished. But anyway, I am just saying that I am critiquing a game that is not done, or not in its "playable state" in my opinion. First, I will start out with what I like about this game. The concept is what I love the most, and is what drew me into it. The idea of the game I think is marvelous. I am a big fan of the idea of a Roguelike based off of Edgar Allan Poe, especially the Nevermore poem which I find fascinating. Another thing I will add to what I like is the combat system. The mechanics of your fighting abilities feels great, and there are a wide array of moves. The game is easy to run, I wasn't really able to find any bugs either, and the game has a reasonable price (for when it's in its finished state). But that's about as far as my props go. Now for the critiques. There was quite a bit running through my head as I was playing. I know I only played an hour but there doesn't seem to be much content to play. Again, early access issues. But there is another thing related to my play time. It was way too easy. It was like the whole game was a tutorial mode. Maybe I am just used to extreme games, but some harder difficulty options would probably be appreciated. Especially because Roguelikes are usually notorious for difficulty, and Roguelike players will be expecting that. Then again, this game doesn't really meet what I would consider a Roguelike or a Souls-like which is what it claims to be based on the user-defined tags. It also says its "Dark" which was one of my biggest problems with it. Its way to lightweight and bright for something in the ballpark of Edgar Allan Poe. It ruined the mood and concept for me because I was expecting something grim and Gothic with touches of insanity and evil. The art style, scenery, and enemies just didn't do "Dark" for me. I mean in the first land you are fighting slimes, bomb bugs, bubblewands, and guys made of treebark. It just doesn't fit. Another thing I would like to make note of, is there is just too much walking and wandering. Wandering is a good term because the game doesn't really outline a goal or point to the game. There also just isn't much to do. You can spend the currency along with a small handful of materials at two shops at the hub and that is it. There just needs to be more things to do. Severe lack of content. Once again, early access issues. I know I said its a good price, but my philosophy of game costs is that its US dollar cost should equal the hours of playable content. This game seems to have 1 hour of playtime for most people at the moment. The spelling errors also bother me whether or not they are intentional. The game just clearly needs some work. To summarize, I love the concept. But the game just didn't hit that concept for me. The game could more reflect the Edgar Allan Poe type content. Its also just very naked right now and needs layering. So I currently do not recommend this game. I know it takes a lot of work to make a game, I have seen what it takes to make one. If the developer is Indie, all the more credit to them fighting the good fight. I know this was probably put up for Early Access for the sales to push development forward, but it gave current players not much to actually play. I am interested to see where this game goes, and I hope it gets much better. Good luck developers.
I really enjoy this game so far but I keep coming across a crash. It really sucks as I was enjoying the game and would love to keep playing.
Possibly the simplest easiest recommendation imaginable. You, a blade, a grappling hook, and an entire evil land's worth of things that need extermination. Perhaps a bit steep on the price side, but excellent production value for its development, and the flip-out spastic mania of the thing means it's got a special happy placement in the brain's fast twitch endorphin factory. Similar to Olija in terms of appeal, and other respects as well. The developer's got some interesting ideas about how to put an RPG together - will be watching for future projects.
SNAPSHOT
A $1 game with an $8 price tag
OVERALL - 2 / 10

PROS
+ interesting concept
CONS
- barely any actual content
FULL REVIEW
The final credits point out this game was made due to $2000 from kickstarter, so that should really tell you everything you need to know about what to expect here. The game itself is less than 2 hours long so I'll try to spend a proportional amount of time for a review here:

entire game is basically a walking simulator + forced grind to boost stats for the final boss - no shortcuts / improvements for progress so if you die you walk through the WHOLE (short) game again
game seems built to avoid refunding - levels are intentionally big and mostly empty and you're forced to grind stats just for the final boss (although you can also just stand still and spam attack it and never take any damage)
some annoying bugs (e.g. losing all your stat upgrades if you quit the game) show that this wasn't tested much (if at all)
Might be worth picking up depending on your taste if it's on sale for under $1 but otherwise there's plenty of better things to spend your money on for less.
fancy, but annoyingly SHORT...

it was alright its not that bad but it was kinda boring after awhile the worlds feel empty and there is nothing more to do then follow a path and its kinda annoying to restart from the beginning when you die maybe, add more nps, thing to do and more things to see
