A fun indie game with breathtaking art and cool music. Don't be fooled by the easy early levels, the game can be quite challenging if you do not plan ahead. I would definitely recommand giving it a try if you are fond of puzzle games and/or roguelites.
An indie gem with simple and yet challenging gameplay, mixing turn-based action and exploration in a very smart way. The universe is unique with a beautiful art style - it really makes you want to see more of it! Worth trying!
Moonfall is a really great indie game, with a simple yet very interesting mechanic. Each turn you can move only one of your companion. To win you will have to optimize their placement and anticipate every action. There are 6 different character types, allowing for variation in play style. During the night you are able to craft items, scoot the surroundings and heal yourself. The game might be tricky near the end but is never frustrating. My only complaint concern the achievements which doesn't seem to count toward the "Avg. Game Completion Rate". But that shouldn't discourage you to buy the game, especially at that cost.
Judging this game is not easy because it has been made by a single developper. Game Design The core gameplay is quite simple, yet fun to play. It kinda refers to The Windwalkers universe and I appreciate that, although the backstory of this game is shallow. Crafting is very important, so important that you should always have at least 2 Gatherers in your team to get the materials needed to craft equipments, and each equipment allow you to negate 1 hazard, quiet punishing. Pharmacy is as important, but Scouting isn't really, especially if you upgrade the scout tent. The gameplay loop repeats itself very quickly, but we can't except much from a 4€ game. I found that the several locations that you can discover don't add anything to the game except 1 op composition (1 protector, 2 gatherers, 1 healer). Also, you can expend your team during a run, and I found out that doing so (having more than 4 members) is always worst than sticking to 3-4 because they take more space in the grid and you can only move 1 member per turn. Futhermore, I think that the craftman and the scout class are useless. So, I'm not sure about the balance. Graphism Graphisms of this game are not the pinacle of originality, but the soft touch is very pretty and the UI is clear. Sound Design Music is nice, but there are only 2 songs I think. There are wind sounds for the ambiance, but are not well mixed and they sound like a synthesized attempt. Verdict This game is a nice beginning for this developper. It is simple, and fun, what do you want more? Well, that's pretty much all we can say about it. Personal note : 6/10
Moonfall is a delightful movement puzzle game with a nice resource management layer on top. The visual style is gorgeous, but it also presents all the information you need clearly. It's a relatively short game, but there are plenty of unlockables to keep things fresh on subsequent runs.
A magnificent roguelite turn based adventure. Well done atmosphere to make your mind travel to this inhospid territory, interesting team management during travelling to the Valley that will need to keep all your sense to the max. More about this in my video: https://youtu.be/QiROo8_6QmU I did receive the game to review it for GDWC, but i did not get any endorsement or money for it. This is my personal review.
