Dungeon Deathball is a pretty bland experience. I beat the game on my first try which never bodes well for longevity in replayability. In essence, this game feels like it should just be a mini-game within another title but has instead been stretched out and turned into its own overpriced product. The tactical offerings in Dungeon Deathball are shallow and are bogged down by a number of minor irritations (limited # of / weak upgrades, restrictive movement, lack of variance in stages / obstacles. There are in-game 'challenges' to beat a round within a set number of turns, to collect some gems placed throughout the stage, or to use an alternate ball that increases / lessens difficulty but these elements provide little to deter the feeling of repetitiveness that overtook me by stage 4 of 12 during my initial run. If I ever saw Dungeon Deathball on sale for $1-2 USD, I'd consider getting it again but it would have to be that cheap (or free) for me to feel like I'm not torching my money on a 'nothing-burger' product. All shade aside, I do think this game has some good building blocks that could serve as a foundation for a larger sequel title if expanded upon: bigger arenas, more player characters, expanded player abilities / ball powers, increased movement options, and a larger variety of obstacles/traps.
A great little game. Not much content for a run-based game, but I love what's there. +innovative +Easy to learn and straightforward goal +challenging but not overly difficult +charming visuals +nice tunes +lots of different strategies to employ +fun to min-max +scratches the 'chess' itch +simple but satisfying mid-run upgrade system -short/small -3D visuals combined with lots of actions in play make reading the grid tricky at times -might be too easy for some -unlocking teams/players doesn't really add anything to the experience -randomness creates inconsistency in the difficulty curve. Seems like the sort of game systems that demand hand-crafted levels/scenarios. I really like this game, but unless you care about unlocking teams, grinding for leaderboard scores is all that's left to do after 8 or 9 hours. Left me wanting more, because the content on offer is very strong. It's an 8/10, fun and innovative!

I like it. It feels like 'Into the Breach' mixed with 'Blood Bowl'. Simple compacted of course.
Very cool, little tactics/strategy game. WIsh it was more popular and got all the love it deserves.
Way too easy and the progression doesn't feel meaningful. Two characters with just one skill each. And unlocking new teams only gives you a very slight variation. Feels like a demo of a better game.
Came across this in my Steam library the other day and it's a total shame this game isn't more well known. One of the better tactical quickplay roguelikes out there. Fun idea, great execution, quick runs. Banger game.
It's a more streamlined version of Into The Breach. Good fun for a few hours but runs are virtually indistinguishable so I got bored quick.
It's a cute little puzzler, like a smaller scale Blood Bowl mixed with Into the Breach. Very creative setups and player options. Definitely worth it to grab on sale.
The gameplay is fun and I like the way that you have to conserve energy, but I beat the game in just two playthroughs which is bad for a roguelite and although you can unlock other teams in the game, the levels don't really change. I would only purchase this game if you just want to burn a couple hours and it costed less than $3.
