This game had potential, but that potential didn't really lead to something I would have hoped for. The game started off pretty interesting, but soon the novel feel of the environment started to feel more like of an annoyance. If this game was more fine tuned, I think it would actually be a great game. Rating: 4.0/10 Recommend Price: $0.49 (if you can get it 90% off, perhaps its worth it)
NO RECOMENDADO. (Pero tampoco me ha importado jugarlo)
PlayZodi: youtube.com/PlayZodi
Soooo wet!
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
I only played for a short time, but I could tell rather quickly I won't enjoy this. The game takes place on a bright and sunny island, with a filter over the screen that makes everything darker and fuzzy. The result is a game where it looks like you're holding a piece of dark plastic over your face. I thought this was a temporary effect that would disappear after the intro, but looking at the screenshots, it seems like it's there for the entire game. That, combined with the slow walking speed and the "find the important item in these garbage piles" puzzles, made it clear I wouldn't be enjoying my time. It's a shame, because the potential is there, it just hasn't been realized yet.
Yet another horror game that thinks making it so you can barely see is a stylistic choice or it makes the environment scarier. The overly dark lighting combined with the film grain effect just makes this more annoying to interact with. One of the first tasks you have is collecting keys from a shed - the shed is pitch black and the keys are hard to see. You can turn the film grain effect off, but to do so you have to go back to the main menu as the options aren't accessible from the pause menu. The game will save at predetermined checkpoints that you can then continue from later. However, it doesn't inform you when you've reached a checkpoint so you just have to guess when you're safe to stop playing for a bit. On the screen to select a checkpoint, I legitimately had to scroll my mouse wheel 60+ times to go down one image. The game begins with you washing ashore on a beach. There is a god awful head bob effect that happens when you move, until you pickup the nearby walking stick. Considering only 36% of people have this achievement, I assume this effect was enough for people to call it quits. A better approach would've been having the effect last like 10 seconds and then go away. Interacting with objects isn't very intuitive. You can't look all the way down, so trying to pickup objects below you can be annoying. You have to fully stop moving to know if you can interact with an object, as you have to wait for the "I" icon to show up. When using an object on something, i.e. the keys on the shed door or the wheel on the pipe, the entire game will freeze for about a second. Speaking of the wheel, the bridge puzzle makes absolutely no sense. The solution is blue/red/green/red - having explored the entire island up to that point, I saw no indication of why this was the solution. This went for the other puzzles as well; obtuse or nonexistent clues. Exploring the island was a chore as you can't run, only slowly walk around. Really the only redeeming thing about this was the voice acting - it was surprisingly good. The game itself lacks polish and suffers from numerous poor design choices.
Works Windows 10
Slow, glitchy, tedious to play, and the plinth puzzle is one of the most badly designed things I've ever seen.
