Quite possibly one of the best creature collector's on the market. The pixel art is fantastic, it really has that classic SNES Chrono Trigger era feel when it comes to animations and background. The amount of creatures are insane especially when you find out a certain mechanic later that I will not spoil. If you are a fan of turn based rpgs there is so much going on here as far as strategy and creature builds / combos. I am constantly thinking of new teams to run every time I capture a new creature because of how unique each one is, and it shows in the leaderboards with how many different creatures there are in the top 100. The ONLY complaint I could possibly have for this game is that the music is a little lack luster, but that is just having to be picky. Bottom line, if you are an turn based rpg, metroidvania or creature collector fan, then why have you not bought this already? 11/10

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Monster sanctuary was very fun. It was actually challenging both in platforming and battling at times which I appreciate. It’s big on making sure your equipment skills monsters etc all synergize well which is something I enjoy doing. I also happened to mostly enjoy the story even if it was fairly straight forward. Exploration was fun too both because of the platforming which felt very smooth and because when you got new monsters they could help unlock new abilities that helped with explorations. If I had one criticism it would be that because of the synergistic focus once you find a combo of monsters that work well together it makes it tough to want to try /use other monsters. Early on I enjoyed trying different ones but once I found a combo that worked I stuck with it pretty much the rest of the game and I sort of missed being interested in what other monsters could do. Overall I’d give it an 8/10
this game is fire on god my G

I enjoyed this game a lot, more than I expected to. It definitely does have the elements I like for a metroidvania and the turn based rpg elements are not exactly what I look for in a game but it was still fun. I gotta say that I was super impressed by how much content was in the game. The world is decently large and while it didn't blow me away there is a lot to explore (including side-game/post-game content). There were a lot of optional battles to complete too, and to collect all of the monsters requires doing additional challenge battles. That said it was surprising how polished it was but then little things made me go, "why did no one bring this up during development?" The ones that stand out to me is you should be able to favorite certain monsters that you use their abilities for, so that they all sit on the front page of the ability screen and you don't have to rearrange them all of the time or go digging for them. The other thing I wish is that on that screen it said the monsters' names! It would have helped with learning them if I had been constantly reading them. But despite those issues the game is still worth playing if you like a decent metroidvania or a monster collecting game.
I've been playing hell out of this game and I need to rant about it. If you like Pokemon, but have gripes with the gameplay mechanics?? Oh boy does this game deliver. What are the things that bother me the most about Pokemon? 1. Having to run back to the Poke Center to heal up my Pokemon or revive them 2. Wasting potions and resources outside of combat 3. The lacking variety of found resources that I'll actually use 4. Lacking backtrack mechanics in the early-game meaning I have to waste time going all the way back to towns constantly 5. The sometimes lagging battles when there's more than one Pokemon to defeat and not being able to use more than one Pokemon at a time often. Monster Sanctuary solves all of that. You auto heal up and revive your monsters after a battle ends meaning that you only have to use your resources during battle for the most part except when you get to use found resources to upgrade your equipment! Every new area you'll find a transporter that can bring you to any other transport location on the map you've discovered. And you get to use three monsters co-currently for every battle making things a lot more interesting and unique battles. Plus! The discovery and puzzle mechanics are VERY fun. I love exploring and this games delivers for real.
This is currently my favorite game I have played in many years, especially for a monster collecting and battling game, and is the first game I not only completed 100% of it (including achievements) in the last 5 years, but also bought a second physical collectors edition since the sheer number of hours I have played compared to the amount I paid for it was one of the cheapest games per hour... an epic investment. There are randomizers, and other challenge play through run mechanics within the game a buyer can use to run the game a second time and I totally plan to do that! This game has 1 of my current top 10 soundtracks of any game. The castle home base for example is my favorite theme of the game. The sound effects, visual effects and graphics all blend well together and is hilarious watching a buff, debuff or your creature appear to be vaporized slowly with a dissolving effect. The three vs three battles are enjoyable, adds onto strategy with hit combos, and each monster being able to spec differently (like MMOs and some RPGs use for customizing builds) makes each monster able to compete, rather than other monster collection games which might have over 1000 mons... but really only a couple hundred or so are actually worth using unless you are trying to make your play-through more difficult. There are some evolutions but even the non evolved units are still great to use.... The mushroom as an example works better in some builds than its evolution. It's a game which has quality over quantity which also aids in the great replay-ability factor. I would totally recommend you pick this game up to play! If you have any game specific question before purchase, feel free to leave a comment and I will try to answer it for you in order to see if this choice is right for you.
Excellent game. It's essentially a good Pokemon game with a focus on exploration with MetroidVania elements. Similar to how old Pokemon games had HMs that allowed you to explore new areas, here specific monsters come pre-loaded with the abilities you need. And I just discovered all the new game + options that come built-in. Even more thumbs up. Absolutely try this game! I like the hatching system, where essentially you just find any monster and if you do well in your fight against it you have a chance to get its egg (almost guaranteed if its Shifted). And I like that you can just hatch them anywhere you are and instantly have access to that cool new monster you just found, or hold on to it for later if you want. Which I would recommend the latter if you do not immediately need the new monster. When you hatch an egg it immediately becomes ~2 or 3 levels lower than your max level, so if you hatch a bunch of level 10s you are going to have a lot of work to do when you reach end-game. It's not impossible, you can probably max-level 3 old monsters in your group in less than an hour with a fast clearing first team. And you also get a bunch of level badges (rare candy) from just playing the game. But if you hatch the eggs you want after you have your main team reach level 42, everything you hatch starts out at 39 and just 3 badges and you are good to go. I also like the Shift system. It gives your monster more stats and a new passive ability depending on the light or dark shift you choose. It's reasonably simple to get Shift stones or find and capture wild Shifted monsters and then use Switch Stones to get the shift you want if it's not what you found or initially tried. And you can also use Grey Pearls to buff up monsters if you are not greatly interested in their shifts (which usually, I think you will be). All in all, a really great game. If you have ever been into Pokemon I think you will enjoy this. And since it's kind of old you can sometimes grab it on sale for just $5. On the note of being old though, that is basically the biggest problem with the game: the online multiplayer is dead. But sad as that is, I'm sure there's a community of die-hards out there somewhere, and there's still a lot to do and enjoy about the game. I've already sunk 58 hours into it and there's still about 20 different monster teams I still want to try. Basically the end-game we are left with without the PVP is the Infinite Arena where you try to beat inifinitely scaling enemies and get rewards, and "pride and accomplishment" (but for real lol) based on how far you got.
