Incredible game, in 2026 this game still stands tall and provides an amazing experience. It's a real masterpiece. If you enjoy the zombie theme in general, colony style people management, survival, strategy, this game will have a lot to offer you!
A fun management game with a zombie apocalypse theme, it has plenty of content, though it does get a bit repetitive towards the end, especially if you’re a completionist. You have to manage survivors, produce resources and loot buildings whilst fending off zombies and other factions, you know the drill. The story is serviceable and the worldbuilding is entertaining, it’s not the usual fare you’ve seen a thousand times over. The visual style is fine, but I’m not a fan of the character designs. Highly recommended for playing in short sessions to scratch that management game itch.
The only reason I could ever reecommend this game is for the deluxe edition when its on sale, so you can play rebuild 1` and 2. But 3 misses the mark for me. One of the Major appeals was the ease of the turn based nature of the game. Granted you can play like that here, but the game was built for real time with pause, and so you miss timing windows and you won't be able to play optimally
Great strategy, build, zombie game. There are some very rare skills your survivors can get which make the game much easier. One of the best skills is the one a builder gets that lets you reclaim land while zombies occupy it.
I brought this game a few years back, decided to play it again just to see if i would be enjoying it since im a fan of the previous rebuild game. Honestly? A dissappointment. The previous 2 game for me has this charm, the artstyle, the grittiness, the music and the animations, all of it is on point and funnily enough, less buggy than this game. Whats the bug? The quest that is refusing to pop on your screen and you need to really wait a long time just to get it to pop up even when you do everything right, the survivor which they are in a form of a circular disk when they return to your reclaimed field, you need to wait until they are fully back before you can even drag them to the place you want them to do the mission or else they would just glitch back and forth as well as me needing to reclick the text in the story mission even after i clicked them the first time. I really dont care for the bugs for they are just minor things and though i may dislike the artwork with a passion of the burning sun, thats not really why im giving this a thumbs down. Its the story quest, the annoyance of me grinding just to have one of the most dissappointing ending. Tell me that you cannot bother to do at least an animation for an ending as a heads up, because its full of malarky. In rebuild 2, any ending you try to achieve has an animation that plays out and it makes getting all of them satisfying as well as all ending for the previous game is really straightforward and clear and less frustrating! I did all of them without needing a guide. You got the lightning in a bottle that is rebuild 1 & 2 and it still to this day holds up as the best game for me. What are you even thinking diluting that so badly? The artwork changes is fine but making it so getting the happy ending so complex and unobtainable without a guide? That to me is unacceptable. It should be straightforward and clear or even having hints for how to get them in the game like how the previous game does. You failed to execute what makes an ending great on rebuild 2, frankly, it feels lazy. I dont know what goes through your mind when you decided to make such changes, but i have negative impression on your product now. This game is also not worth for its current prices, you are better off buying a cheap key from some 3rd party site and activate it here. My final verdict: 4/10
Been a fan of the series since the first Rebuild on Armor Games. Rebuild: Gangs of Deadsville is the best of the series, and you don't have to play the earlier games to learn the story, this one has it all. It's kind of like SimCity, but with no money and with zed crashing into your walls. Walking biter survival base builder; if the genre appeals to you, you'll likely enjoy this title. Have fun surviving the zombie apocalypse! Edit: iirc, If you have epilepsy, this game may not be right for you. Because of the story, late game screen can have random screen flash like effect
Been playing this for years... please make a sequel!!
Oh man. I loved this game when it was on Kongregate. This version is even better, with factions, equipment, and a compelling storyline full of twisted characters. I do wish the path to the "perfect" ending had been telegraphed a little better, but I guess that's part of the way of games.
Played the first Deadville 10+ years ago in the browser of my school laptop in 7th grade; Best nostalgia game in my library
Nostalgic, charming, satisfying when things go well -though not frustrating when they don't. Is for sure a bit repetitive, and by todays standards lacks depth. Worth a play, but would wait until it goes on sale. There is more than meets the eye, survivors develop dynamic relationships with each other. However don't get too attached, when moving from one city to the next you can choose who to take with you, and they have a tendency to delete themselves. This could be your in-game partner and best friends, which feels annoying when you've looked after your tribe so well. There probably won't be an update to fix this, and ruins the depth of your little community.
