if they know you're somewhere close, they might back off into a better position and wait for you/backup - some of the more "modern" stealth mechanics don't really transfer as well into the top-down style - the goals are pretty much always the same: get to X point, kill X person, exfiltrate There are only 3 levels that kinda change the formula and are basically the "John Wick" levels, but at the same time, they're the hardest to stealth through (especially on Masochist difficulty) - once you're spotted, there's basically no way to go back undercover except for reloading earlier save/restarting mission * pretty minor issue but while doing stealth and using throwing knives: if you throw them, you'll automatically equip the next tool when you pick them up, you won't automatically equip them * being able to use your mic to make noise is interesting, but feels kinda useless * would be nice if you could have two equipment slots - Amazing game.
I finally took the time to play this game and as an absolute fan of the original splinter cell PS2 games I didn't think I would come across a game that has the same feeling in the stealth options. Apart from some issues with wild doors and some AIs who just seemed to have developed a spider sense ( added at the very frustrating combat parts on some mission where you are forced to knock / kill ), it still was a great experience and I will surely take the time to do all the remaining achievements and play the next as well as the third upcoming title !

Played on Linux using Steam Proton 10.0-4. Estimated completion time between 20 and 25 hours. Both a nervous and stealth-oriented game depending on your playstyle. Both challenging and forgiving, the campaing isn't too long, and the difficulty levels makes this game quite replayable with a New Game+ feature. Overall, a nice little game to play when you have 1-2 hours of free-time.

very fun game, the stealth is amazing and honestly the game just looks great and plays great, the stealth is very thought through on each map and you dont always need to be stealthy, one of the best parts of this game is you get to choose your playstyle yea you can be really stealthy or you can be loud and kill everyone or if you wanted to you could literally not kill a single enemy, game is easily in my top 5 as of now its simply an amazing game.
