This game is still in early stages but is setup to be an outstanding game

I am very disappointed with the release of this game. After 3 or 4 missions only once was I able to make contact (ais or sonar), the game time is slow even at 4x time boost . The weapon systems failed launching missiles into the sea, not at there intended targets. Watching the tutoring videos didn't help

they really need to have voices from crew members and even some background chatter from crew members. i feel all alone while playing the game! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give it time!! This game is very early access. Should it have been released? That's open to debate. But this kind of game is going to take you dozens of hours and a lot of frustration before you feel like you are in any way proficient at it. If you are looking for a game where you do a series of tutorials, then blow up a bunch of stuff, and the game walks you through that process, play Uboat. If you are looking for something that recreates the experience of being in command of a particular submarine in the modern age, and are willing to spend the time to absorb a very, very, very steep learning curve, give this a shot. Also, keep in mind that it's nowhere close to being finished. No, there are not "tutorial missions". The "tutorials" are going to be found on Youtube. Give Jive Turkey a sub, and follow him. Or just wait six months. But going online today and declaring the thing dead on arrival is ridiculous, guys. This thing will be pretty amazing when it is ready. Think DCS for the submarine world....
I imagine its going to be a good game, I do not know what i'm doing. First mission says surface and get a message. I can never get a message comm masts up
Overall, I would recommend this product. It is Early Access, so things are not perfect but the trade off is worth it. Please note, this is a study level simulator, as the developers have plainly indicated. If you want immediate action without understanding and employing Naval tactics and strategy, you might want to look at something different. As someone that has followed the Virginia Submarine program from the beginning, this title gives an unparalleled look into that world. No book or documentary comes close to the depth of systems depiction and interaction. If you want to learn about the various blocks of the Virginia, nothing else comes close. At this point the enemy will evade but won’t fire back. From my perspective, that’s not a major issue because it allows the opportunity to learn and master the systems before I need to work on evasion. It’s kind of the crawl before you walk type of thing. The documentation is sparse as far as systems interaction is concerned. That’s going to change this fall when the published releases in depth documentation and tutorials. For anyone that has a Dangerous Waters manual, you can learn many/most of the in game concepts during the wait. Some folks have had issues with performance but my systems run the game with no major issues or problems. Many reviews cite the change to an Early Access release before this product released. That notification occurred approximately two weeks before sales or availability. I don’t really understand the animosity because it was Early Access when they hit the purchase button. Many folks were disappointed but at some point, that emotion become entitlement. Emotion shouldn’t play a part in reviews, from a validity standpoint. This is Early Access, so some teething pains will exist. Other than that, Modern Naval Warfare will eventually become a classic that will be developed well into the future.
Modern Naval Warfare - Das DCS der Marine. Modern Naval Warfare versucht etwas was bisher erst wenige Spiele vollbracht haben. 2.
The biggest con to the game at this point is the sparse documentation but the developer is working on that. They indicate a fall release for in depth tutorials and documentation. At that point understanding the various systems should be more straight forward. It's also early access, so bugs are being worked on...just keep that in mind. I've had no issues as far as performance goes, as the game runs smooth with no problems up to 8X time compression. AI opponents will come this fall but really understanding the systems will take some time to become competent anyhow. I'd like to learn the game before someone is trying to chase me down. The developer stated this is a steep learning curve and they are right. if you put the time and effort into, this can be a rewarding game. If you're looking for an instant action shooter without much strategy or tactics, this might not be for you. We are talking a study level simulator here. If you're eager to understand Naval operations AND invest the time to understand the systems, you will be greatly rewarded.
There are still years of work ahead before one could hope for a decent, playable simulation that meets even the minimum expectations for this type of title. I strongly advise against buying it; the sheer amount of work remaining makes me doubt we’ll ever see a finished product. Nothing works properly, and the price is astronomical for such a rough draft that still needs so much done. I feel like I’ve been ripped off, even though I’m a huge fan of this kind of hardcore simulation. I seriously wonder if the developers will ever be able to release a proper version 1.0; at this stage, I have my doubts.
