UBOAT: The Silent Wolf VR

As a fan of submarine simulators and an owner of the game Uboat, I was very much looking forward to the Uboat title in VR. but even so, I have to give a thumbs down and I won't wipe away the criticism, as the game has been released for some time and during that time there is only one patch out there and none to be mentioned. the game has extremely many bugs and the first ones will show up right after you purchase and start the game where the game crashes immediately in the menu, if you don't have an Oculus Quest and you are the owner of another headset, you probably won't be able to play the game via Steam VR and Virtual Desktop. even though the developers wrote how to fix this, it didn't work for me and I managed to get it running, I really don't even know how. I played with the settings in Pcio Connect and managed to run the game. bohuzial still does not work in combination with Virtual desktop. After a few weeks of suffering, I finally started playing. I was pleasantly surprised that the VR version was taken from the famous Uboat game. but only very little. everything is very very circumscribed and simplified. I will give the main criticism to the Graphics. absolutely terrible graphics that cannot be adjusted in any way. you won't find any graphic settings here, so you have to settle for graphics from 10 years ago. PLEASE DEVELOPERS, this is a game designed for PCVR not Standalone, so people who play PCVR have powerful computers and I want to play quality titles with nice graphics. just implement the graphics settings and everyone will set the details exactly according to what their PC can handle. I also want to point out that I have no idea what the developers were aiming for with the title Uboat VR. is this just some kind of trial or is it your work that you want to take care of and i will be running out of updates? currently it doesn't look like anyone cares about the game, no updates are coming. The fix for the bug in the menu has not been fixed to this day!!!! I would very much like to recommend this game to other Submarine fans, but not at this stage and not now. save 20 euros/dollars and wait to see if the developers will even start caring about Uboat VR.

Il sera compliqué de conseiller le jeu à ce jour , même si celui-ci à des qualités : ce n'est pas un jeu Vr insipide non plus . Le multijoueur et ces problèmes : - Pas de tutoriel en multijoueur , impossible de faire les missions tutoriel du solo avec ces amis afin de s'amuser en comprenant les mécaniques . - Pas mal de déconnexion Durant la partie , souvent à la fin de mission dans le bureau du capitaine, mais il est aussi arrivé en cours de route que quelqu'un dans le groupe perde la connexion .... si c'est l'hôte qui perd sa connexion, tout le monde est sorti de la partie . - Mon micro en jeu ne fonctionnait pas de base , aucune option de paramètre audio ( du moins choisir son périphérique ) , au final aucune idée du pourquoi après avoir relancer le jeu cela fonctionnait . (Miracle) - Pas de trame en multijoueur , pas de récompense pour le sous-marin, pas de cosmétique à débloquer , en fait le multijoueur ne se joue qu'en jeu Libre : On choisit une fiche avec la mission, et c'est parti . - rentrer le code de partie sur le téléphone assez bancal , sans touche de suppression du dernier chiffre rentré : Pas l'idée du siècle . Les autres Moins : - Aucune options Graphiques , le jeu ne brille pas pour du PCVR , l'intérieur du sous-marin est pas mal , l'extérieur, les ennemis cela reste le service minimum . Les trucs marrants : - On se laisse prendre au jeu et s'en dégage une certaine satisfaction . - Les mécaniques du sous-marin sont assez amusante même si au final assez simple quand on sait où regarder . - si vous comptez "Stream" le jeu , où montrer simplement votre partie a des gens présent dans votre pièce sur moniteur , la Vue quand on rentre dans le cannon , ou le tireur de torpille n'est pas représenter , en gros on voit les instruments mais pas la vue périscope du casque : je ne pensais même pas cela possible en 2024 . J'ai espoir que ce jeu verra des améliorations , du multijoueur plus gratifiant : Bref ce n'est pas un Mauvais jeu , mais ce n'est pas non plus une expérience inoubliable de simulation sous-marine non plus .

Better than Iron Wolf by leaps and bounds. Could use more activity and movements from the crew. Great feel of running a Sub but really empty feeling also. My biggest gripe.....FIX THE DAMN REAR TORPEDO ROOM!!!! Nothing is more annoying than needing fish in the rear tubes you have but cant use because the Loader not only FREEZES UP, but also wont GET OUT THE WAY so I can load the tube myself. I lost several really tense battles because of this glitch. No updates since my purchase around spring 2024, PLEASE FIX THIS as this could be a classic if tweaked right.

Just black screen in the headset.

Product does not launch correctly even when following the developers troubleshooting solutions (launches to black screen). This product is also most likely abandon-ware as the developers don't seem to be actively trying to patch this major, game breaking bug.

Honestly, it's better than I expected. As many here, I played a lot of Silent Hunter, Wolfpack etc. And by Wolfpack I mean one from 1990 (although modern one too). This game doesn't share much with Uboat despite its name, and while it's very arcadey and, uhm, simplified, it's still quite unique experience. I found evading depth charges is much more harrowing when you are IN the boat than when you simply look at the screen. Game still needs work and I wholeheartedly hope the development will continue.

it has quite some quirks, the mission feel too basic/easy. I've had trouble setting up my headset with the game, had to do a billion work arounds just to get it working on the quest 3. the developers seem to not care to fix simple issues with the VR hook, and they seem to not feel like working on the game anymore (no updates, no communication on their discord). I am saddened Iron Wolf VR got cloned into this game as IWVR has a lot of potential and this game clearly inspired, or hell straight up copied it but failed on everything else lol. PS: The game has been out since June and to this day it still has "Coming Soon" assets on the steam page, lol. 0 Care by the devs, 0.
