Cold Waters is an excellent submarine simulation including the hunting submarines of the modern era. The campaigns have different levels of difficulty and also different scenarios. The submarine simulation is challenging and requires a high level of concentration. The game can be difficult at first, but after a while you get a good overview of the units. Between the dynamic campaign missions, short illustrations and newspaper articles are shown, which gives a good immersion of the scenario progression. Overall a clear recommendation.
As a prior submariner, I approve of this game. I annoy my girlfriend and compadres with recounted stories spurred on thanks to this game, about the good 'ole days when I never saw the sunlight and glowed from the reactors radiation.

I was intrigued by this game after watching multiple series done by Wolfpack345 on YouTube. After several months resisting the urge to purchase the game, I finally caved. I do not regret buying it! I was hooked after the first training mission. The next thing I knew, I'd spend several hours in the game. If you want a game that blends strategy with a playable modern-day submarine simulation, this is your game! With Dot Mod installed, the game is still incredibly enjoyable and accessible.
Great Game! Former Sonar Tech USS Louiville SSN724. Sonar parameters realistic from my experience.
This game would be a lot more fun if torpedoes had anything near realistic sensors. in no way should an active homing torpedo from the 60s or 70s be able to detect a sationary sub sitting on the bottom at ultra quiet when the torp is 300m above on the surface. and having 6 homing torpedoes chasing you is absolutely crazy as they 1: don't interfere with each other's sonar and 2: never track into each other as they all swarm your boat. artificial difficulty kills games

Pretty straightforward once you understand the sonar and have the patience to be quiet. An hour or so reading the guides and you will be speaking like Sean Connery, as you dodge torpedoes, smash out knuckles and disappear back into the depths ready to prepare for your next target. Worth the money for the 280+ hours I have had so far.
amzing game but dont buy unless your desprate as sea power (another game made by the same devs) is coming out in november which will have submarines and suface ships and air craft carries and planes
Challenging. Good graphics. Navy veteran, USS Nimitz CVN 68.
