Reviews
I picked this up in a Humble Bundle. It's a fun deck builder and the tile/grid mechanic adds an interesting twist to the genre.
Just one more dungeon and I'll stop....
I've enjoyed playing the original Meteorfall (now known as Meteorfall: Journeys) on my phone, so when I saw the developer had a related game on Steam, I jumped on it right away. Just based on the dev and name, I expected a similar game, but one expanded into something more appropriate for PC play. What I got was a PC port of a different mobile game, with worse balance than the first game, and its price jacked up to more than double what you'd pay for it as an Android app. Part of that is definitely on me for not investigating fully. But the game itself is just really lackluster. There's barely any strategy; it's just math (based on poorly communicated details) and huge piles of RNG. It's not quite the children's card game War, where the outcome is determined the moment you shuffle the deck, but it's closer than it should be. This is a bit of a borderline case; if there were a neutral option, I'd pick it. The art is definitely unique and fun, and I think they at least tried to make a good mobile game before cash-grab porting it. But there are enough negatives that I just can't recommend it. At a minimum, try the demo before you buy it, and check the price versus other platforms.
