what a lovely game. I strongly recomend to play this game once in your lifetime. some of the most hilarious dialogue and scenes are there. A huge thanks to Sir KOJIMA and his team members.
Most of the games here were originally made either for 4:3 or 4:3 AND 16:9. Despite that, NONE OF THE GAMES RUN ON 4:3. I have a CRT monitor, PERFECT to play MGS1 on and yet the game CANNOT open at it's original 1024x786 resolution. It's insane that they put a MINIMUM resolution. Just let me play the game on a CRT at its ORIGINAL resolution. It took them more time to IMPEDE me from playing this game on my CRT than it would've taken to make it playable on a CRT. ♥♥♥♥ THIS ♥♥♥♥, I SHOULD'VE GONE FULL PIRATE DON BUY DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME :(
Now I know why people love the Metal Gear series I absolutely loved it and I only wish I'd played it when I was younger. The gameplay still holds up surprisingly well the story kept me hooked from start to finish the characters are unforgettable It's easy to see why this game became a classic. P.S. The final boss fight was ♥♥♥♥.
Metal Gear Solid (1998) — ★★★★★ Recommended Back in class 7, I'd come home, open YouTube, and watch Pokémon gameplay. A channel called Bhailogkaadda mentioned this game once, and that one mention sent me down a rabbit hole. Searched about it, learned about Kojima and this legendary series he's been building for years. Me and my friend Rohan were probably the only MGS fans in our entire school nobody else even knew who Kojima was lol. Good old DAV school days. We mostly emulated GBA Pokémon games, but we even tried getting Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand running just because his name was on it. Shoutout Rohan for being on this journey with me. Playing MGS1 now yeah, gameplay feels dated for modern gamers. But give it time. The cinematics really show the jump from MSX to PS1, the stealth was great design for its era, and story wise it delivers. It's a piece of art honestly. Everyone should try this at least once. Emulate it if you have to, but I'm getting a PS1 someday just to play this for real.
A timeless classic. It’s honestly crazy how far ahead of its time Metal Gear Solid was. When you consider that the game came out in 1998, it becomes even more impressive how well so much of it still holds up today. Snake is an incredibly strong protagonist and the supporting cast has a surprising amount of depth as well. Every character feels important and has their own distinct personality. The story completely pulled me in from start to finish. Especially towards the end the game becomes increasingly wild and delivers several moments that completely caught me off guard. What probably impressed me the most though was the presentation. Many of the cutscenes feel more like something from a movie than a PS1 game. Considering how old the game is by now, that’s honestly incredible to me. The gameplay is also surprisingly fun even today. You can definitely feel its age in some areas, but the stealth mechanics still work really well. The boss fights are easily one of the highlights of the entire game. Almost every boss is memorable and feels completely different from the one before. Then there’s the atmosphere, the sound design and Shadow Moses itself. The game has such a unique vibe that I still love to this day. You can really tell how much attention to detail went into every part of it. There’s a reason Metal Gear Solid is considered one of the most important games ever made. Even today it’s still incredibly fun to play and at the same time it’s easy to understand why so many people call it a masterpiece. If you’re interested in video games and have never played it before, I genuinely think it’s something everyone should experience at least once.
va como las weas mejor emular
A game that finally had the guts to answer the age-old question: do you think love can bloom even on a battlefield? Top notch script, Kojima, top notch. This game is a glorious blend of American (action movie) and Japanese (*waves hands broadly*) cultural excesses, compounded with some classic tactical espionage action. While it's a little clunky by modern standards and looks terrible even compared to the original on the default settings (fortunately the new patch added high and max resolution options, which play fine even on my potato of a PC that was mid-range when I built it in 2015, make up for the lack of CRT-fuzziness and make it look about as good as it did back in the day). It's a lot of dialogue and very unforgiving at times (save often!), it's still tons of fun. Give it a shot, it's still a great game.
This was my second all-time favorite game i remember as a 12 year old kids just being blown away with the cinematics and depth of game play. i'm now 38 years old and can still say it never gets old. Amazing game.
The Greatest Story ever told MGS 1 redefined the game medium in so many ways but what stands out to me having played 1000s of games and this one many times is how much the story holds up decades later. Humanity and its history of striving for a peaceful future has been fraught with so many challenges one of which is maintaining the vast power we wield that is only growing with time. At some point it feels enviable that we are doomed for horrific destruction, nuclear war genetic modification and our march towards becoming god has huge potential for deep suffering. MGS 1 lets these concepts slowly sink into your mind in a way that you will never forget... you will think about this game and its concepts long after you have played it. Many of the things this game stokes fear about what might come to pass and it feels almost prophetic given how long ago it was made. Nuclear war is manual but one day it wont be and then begins the war of hacking Ai back and forth trying to prevent the end of times. What will become of humans and will we still be human any more with vast genetic editing and cybernetic augmentations... MGS plants deep dark seeds of truth within you without giving any answers as to what may come thats for you to ponder before bed and your nightmares begin. We often worry about trivial things in life but MGS1 warns us that ther are much bigger problems heading our way and someone is going to have to solve them one day or another. 10/10 the pinnacle of video game story telling strap in gamer you wont forget this tale.
