Ohe! Such a cute game, art style is extraordinary, story is amazing, characters are AWESOME, OST IS BEUTIFUL. There is a lot more to the story that meets the eye and im gonna try to get all of the little secrets and endings that this game has to offer.11/10 would suggest playing this game, show this game some love!! Mesmalie is an incredibly confident game that just exudes talent, it takes you on this trip into a world of magic(k) which quickly makes you so desperate to see everything it offers and more that it's almost a betrayal when the credits roll. But to imply the game is too short to properly satisfy would be wrong, the story is well paced and consistently fresh and awe inspiring until the very end, of which there are multiple for the player to discover; the path to which is paved with the player's own decisions and desire to explore the nooks and crannies of the fascinating environment they're lured into and perfectly broken up into very enjoyable minigames and changes of pace that refuse to leave the player "bored just reading". Though even if it weren't for the interesting ways the game uses and adds to the point and click medium, with how great the moment to moment writing is it would still be worth your time. When I said the game is confident, I was talking about how flawlessly it executes everything it tries to do in the short time it has with you, it moves seamlessly from funny, to mysterious, creepy, sweet, tender, sad, shocking, outright horrifying, and it sticks the landing every time, and it does that almost solely through the character of Mesmer, your magic(k)al tutor, and a fascinating girl who you'll be spending almost all your time with during your stay. Furthermore it's confident as well in how it respects your agency as a player, things you'll think of doing while immersed is respected through the huge variety of actions you can take and the game consistently offering a satisfying reaction to it; you're never sitting there frustrated thinking "what does the game want me to do?" or "why can't I do that?", it really lets you test it. If you're anything like me you should pick this game up right away and let yourself be a witch a few hours(or rather, a very strange witch's hedge student and pet project) and walk out of it with a lingering week long obsession with all things Magickal and just a very small amount of shovel induced trauma.
