Men of War: Assault Squad takes the series in a different direction. Instead of focusing on a traditional story-driven campaign, it doubles down on what has always made the franchise special: pure tactical gameplay. The classic Men of War formula is still here. Every soldier, vehicle, weapon, and shell matters, rewarding careful planning, smart positioning, and resource management. The new skirmish missions offer an incredible amount of replayability, with objectives ranging from desperate defensive battles to massive combined-arms offensives. The series' trademark Direct Control mechanic remains one of the best features in any tactical RTS. Taking manual control of a soldier, tank, or artillery piece at the perfect moment never gets old, and the freedom it gives the player is still unmatched. While some players may miss the cinematic campaigns of previous entries, Assault Squad makes up for it with refined gameplay, excellent cooperative missions, and highly replayable scenarios. If your favorite part of Men of War was the tactical sandbox rather than the storytelling, this is where the series truly shines. Pro tip: Hold CTRL to enter Direct Control mode. Knowing when to switch between RTS commands and Direct Control is the key to victory—and yes, don't hesitate to abuse it.

Old But Gold
God awful game from top to the bottom. Even ten years ago, when "Men of War" series shined and could easily compete with "Company of Heroes" and other tactical games - "Assault Squad" already looked lame due to lack of common story campaings and any kind of different maps for both single- and multi- player. In fact - main game mode of "MoW AS" provide literally the same group of maps for all nations, they just look slightly different in terms of vegetation and housing. Other multiplayer modes besides mentioned main - were simply copy-pasted from original "MoW" games, providing zero new stuff. So why this game even was popular? First of all - it presented really big battlefields, filled with many types of troops and vehicles. While classic "MoW" games operates on tactical level, "AS" tried to rise the map sizes and troop caps to some kind of strategical equivalent, trying to stay the same in gameplay core. Second - game netcode was slightly better than original "MoW"`s and could handle bigger quantities of troops and even lots of artillery, with which previous games always had problems. Initially - "AS" didnt looked bad and people were enjoying sandboxish carnage, but It became obvious quite fast, that this game flawed hard. For SP and coop - game difficulties were screwed beyond repair and devs never even tried to fix it. Even on "normal", game drops enormous quantities of enemy bots, ranging from hordes of infantly to giant tank columns. No balance, no tactics, no fair use of gathered "cash" - just free infinite back ups for enemy side in a waves style, which becomes stronger and stronger with each taken point. Without try-harding with slow-mo and direct control or having few friends to hold the flanks - game turns into "try to stop zerg rush" mode very fast. It was new for a moment, kinda competetive initially, but then it became just boring pile of trash for an obvious reasons. Exactly for co-op, there were even "better" problems - chance to drop from game without possibility to reconnect and ultra dumb way of splitting the reinforcements, which being called by each player separatly for own points - not called troops or tanks could join !other player!, but combat crew could be separated from own squads. RPG troops being left alone without loaders or assault squad without medic and mgunner - are "classics" of trash game called "Assault Squad". In PvP game modes, things were a bit better but there was just one problem - game developers from "Digitalmindsoft" blatantly plagiarized popular third party mod for the first game called "BTRH", which provided literally the same additions and netcode fixes, including new troops and vehicles, but for free. Whats worse - devs immediately turned away from the auditory without hesitations, after net services provider called "Gamespy" closed their servers for many games, including "AS". Instead of fixing serverside issues with Steamworks, they decided to re-release "MoW: AS" with such fix as "MoW: AS 2", adding few slightly different maps and new game modes to justifie of reselling same stuff with bigger price tag. And I like to remind that few years ago - absolutely for free first game of series "Soldiers Heroes of World War 2" was fixed for all owners, not only in terms of old engine bugs and localizations problems, but in a netcode division as well... for free, Carl! Summarizing everything mentioned previously - "MoV AS" just a cashgrab knock-off of once great series, with poorly done maps and modes, zero balance and really awful "reinforcements split system". Moreover, pathetic developers from "Digitalmindsoft", which never should be allowed to touch "MoW" IP - pretty much stole lots of community made stuff from "BTRH mod", but failed to make an interesting working game at the end, instantly dropping support after third party serverside, which they choose to use - was compromised. My suggestion - dont buy this barely working game with chopped multiplayer and never try to support trashmakers from "Digitalmindsoft", because they are not deserving a single coin.
Boh è troppo divertente, non ho molto da aggiungere
Suck a game, everytime I played this game always have same problem and the problem is not fix by developer for long time. I need my money back
