Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 1

What you gain: - BusterMAX mode, which gives you an instakill buster that helps a lot with grinding and other repeat content - Exclusive event chips and features, such as the battle chip reader in MMBN4 - Online functionality, which is great if you have friends that play or if you engage with the wider community What you LOSE: - The ability to reset to the title screen quickly What's missing: - Speedup. For as nice as BusterMAX is, I still prefer emulation because of the speedup and VITAL fast-reset command. - I'll also mention there's no system for savestates. I don't really mind this, as I wouldn't use it, but given that even Nintendo is including it as an emulation feature these days, I figured I should mention it for those who care. The Battle Network games are so great - at least in terms of the setting and battle system, if not always the writing - that I'm thrilled they got a collection at all, and I absolutely recommend the games to anyone who hasn't played them. It's just a shame it's missing those two vital features of quick reset and speedup that would've brought this particular collection from "great" to "perfect."

Amazing leap back in time!! This game is a time machine to the good parts of my youth! I cant believe the game is fun 20+ years later >.<. Can't wait to finish the whole collection :D

after beating all 3 games i can say my favorites in order are mbn2, mbn3, then mbn1. 2 was only annoying during the freezeman.exe segment, while 3 was annoying most of the game with press and the fact you could only hold one style change :sob: 3 definitely had the best story of the trilogy in this collection, which made enduring press more worthwhile LOL all in all really solid collection of games, i couldn't recommend them enough as mbn is such an iconic series with an amazing cast of characters and was the first of it's kind with its memorable gameplay :-)

Finally came around on experiencing a few of the Battle Network games. Pretty decent bundle of 3 games that also features buster max mode which helps a lot with grinding and hard boss fights, download chips, the main menu having Megaman.EXE be the menu navigator that surprisedly has a lot of voicelines plus extra dialogue as you progress the games, art music galleries and more. The games especially BN1 does suffer from early rpgs elements such as grinding, backtracking (looking at you BN2 undernet) and frequent random encounters. -BN1 is the roughest with constantly getting lost and running around aimlessy on where or what to do. Though it's a good enough introduction to its battle system and game's world. -BN2 was fine expect for the style system sucking that kept me getting shield style and the annoying backtracking in the last scenario. BN3 for the most part the best out of them with its battle system and story. The only things I didn't like were constantly changing the setup on the navi customizer for a lot of areas and consuming battle chips to progress through paths (big fan of heat chips). Regardless, give it a shot if you like strategy RPGs plus deck building or just a fan of MegaMan and wanna check out one of its RPG games

Great way to play through the first half (roughly) of the series for that nostalgia kick! Some of the achievements are a bit of a grind, but it was a great way to expand on the post-game for me, particularly in MMBN3. Plays perfectly on Deck!
