Abandonded content
This game had so much potential, it's a real shame it was abandoned. Such a good game to chill out to after a day of work. I would still reccomend playing it, it's good for the first 20-30 hours until you run out of things to do.
Abandonware, how disappointing.

Mostly just a walking simulator. The game looks beautiful, the gameplay is severely lacking. It's about foraging randomly generated items and materials. Most items never appear when you need them or are not consistently found in the same place. Progression is an extremely slow pace and is hardly rewarding. The game says that sneaking around a bear to get the loot it's guarding is worth it, but the loot is horrible. If one of those bears gets you, there's no outrunning it. You can only save progress at your house so your whole day's progress is gone if when that bear gets you unless you've been back to your house. There are very few water sources on the map so expect to sidetrack a good amount of time just to refill your thirst meter. Once you get the crafting room built you can build a canteen but it's already been painful enough by the time you play it.
it's visually beautiful with a great premise and unfortunately, almost nothing to do. the amount of potential this game had vs what it ended up being is legitimately sad. abandoning something of this scale feels like it makes no sense, and while I dislike giving bad reviews, the lack of communication from the devs after 5 years has led me to give up on giving it a fair shot. the fox really is cute though.
Please add steam workshop for this game so we can enjoy more contents for this game, i really enjoyed every moments of this game
I was looking for a cozy survival game and Among Trees seemed promising. I really enjoy the calming music, art, and general ambiance. But once the house is built there is not much propelling me to continue playing. Food is very easy to come by, its better to eat raw mushrooms & plants than cook anything. I think something like recipes would vastly help this along with a desire to 100% the game. The rabbits and deer tease you at every turn but you will never be able to hunt them. Fishing is fine, but there seem to be only 4 types of fish to catch. Adventuring is nice, but with such a small inventory you're forced to head back to base frequently, especially if you're building the cabin. Once the cabin is built, the whole game just became... pointless. No direction. Perhaps that is the point, no point. But it made for a bit of directionless gameplay that quickly lost its shine. I think this game has promise, the stage is set but it lacks depth or anything to hold you here, to keep you coming back. Dont get me started on the bear.
A simple, relaxing survival/crafting game. Perfect for winding down. :) The only frustrating part for me was that I finished absolutely everything there was to do long before I could get the achievement for surviving 50 days. Since it was the only achievement I had left to unlock, I couldn't let it go lol. So I spent roughly 4-5 hours simply... idling, waiting for the days to tick over. I'd say it's worth roughly 10-12 hours of simple, calming entertainment.
SUPER!!
Beautiful game. Abandoned game, for sure, but it's a very pleasant cozy experience without any late game.
