I'm not really good at these kinds of tactical games, but im having a ton of fun blasting enemy mechs and getting thrown into the fray. I'm playing on narrative, but do plan on trying out the higher difficulties with some friends in co-op.
Fun Mech game.
Worse than Mercenaries but still a great game.

The 5 player co-op is why this game gets a thumbs up. Overall it has been a good game to kill time with friends. It has a 90s vibe. The mech customization is good and the controls are good, but it would be nice if setting up a HOTAS could all be done with in the game. What I hope happens with MW6, is that it keeps 5 player COOP, if not more, but also lets the players "create" their own characters. I'd rather choose my pilot's appearance, name, skills, and be able to bring them between campaigns/DLC, and that the game's story were more generic.
i mech sono fighissimi!
About a 7 out of 10. This doesn't have the flexibility of Mech 5 Mercs but is worth playing. The Ghost Bear DLC is the way the first should have been. The AI companions feel better than it was in Mercs and do not die nearly as easily. The character models in the story of the base game are horribly ugly, although this gets much better in the ghost bear DLC. Worth picking up on sale, but solidly playable if you don't. I got a lot of time out of it. The one other con to the game is that it takes up a massive amount of space on your hard drive.
Very bad.
It takes up all my video memory. The menu 9 fps. How does this work?
1. The locations are poorly designed, as if they were cobbled together from free resources. 2. The sense of scale of the vehicles is poor; they feel small. Even compared to the vegetation and grass, everything looks very low-quality. 3. The performance is very strange; the game runs at 20 FPS in the menu and lobby. How so? 120 during gameplay. 4. Everything on the screen looks like a jumble of pixels. The graphics are unattractive, the physics are poorly designed, everything is very arcade-like, not at all what you expect from controlling a large robot. Enemy robots bounce around like rag dolls when they die. What is this? 5. The interface is overly detailed, there are unnecessary components, unnecessary upgrades, artificially drawn-out progression, for no apparent reason, everything is very stupid. 6. The game's main scenario is, to put it mildly, some kind of childish nonsense, something you wouldn't expect from clan warriors; it's a nightmare. I'm talking about the scripted dialogue, the mental anguish, they're like idiots. The constant chatter during the game, during combat, seriously? Where's the focus, attention, and dialogue in combat? 6. A mission in the dark on the moon, with some kind of storm, what? On the moon, a storm? It's so bad, it's such garbage, the storm particles just spinning like ♥♥♥♥. 7. Sound, I don't understand if there is any here at all :D
It's a pretty average product, it's a shame, but it's not worth paying attention to.
Big stompy mechs done well.
Great looking MechWarrior game, flame/jetpack gfx look amazing, and sound design sucks you in, like in a cinema, with all the cutscenes and beautiful vistas. Playing in headphones is recommended for this one specificly. Comparing to MW5:Mercs sandbox design, ofcourse its more linear, handcrafted experience to enjoy from A to B. Buy it on sale if you like Mechs in general, or like the Battletech series, then its a no brainer to get, realy fun ride to enjoy!
