Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

a full-on charm offensive i fear. its pretty stunning how equally the game straddles several seemingly contradictory appeals. only in this period, with this creative team, could a game be, all at once, a genuinely jaw-dropping technical achievement for its time AND a silly (but textured!) amateur b-movie covered in memorably quirky cost saving measures AND an overly ambitious artistic statement from a first-time future Game Auteur that blends genre fatalism with light metatext and norse mythology symbols. and wrapped all around it is just a deliciously fun video game!! the bullet time mechanics are enjoyable but whats almost more important are how the considerations made for them impact the entirety of the gunplay...the physical position of characters arms/guns, as well as the physical air travel of the bullets, give all of the combat a feeling very distinct from shooters of the time. it doesnt measure up in every single way i suppose...in particular, compared to the standard set by half-life, i was a little disappointed how strategically interchangeable a lot of the guns feel. and honestly i would have been curious to see more playing around with ammo scarcity as well....perhaps i was just quickloading through the encounters really efficiently, but even in the chapters where youre meant to be at a bit of a power reset, it felt like it wasnt long before i was carrying around an armory's worth of bullets. these are more quibbles about how the game could theoretically be better tho, whats here is so compulsive and entertaining...the encounter design is still consistently strong in asking numerous different questions of you (some fun little Positioning Puzzles in here), and the physical reality of the bullets + the video game artifice creates something thats tactile and dreamlike in very compelling ways. i'm not sure i have much to say about the artistic ambitions...i really really enjoy them, but more as an appreciation for the raw creativity and energy than anything that really grabs my attention or makes me think about it in startling new ways. but there is much emotional and thematic cogency to be found in the apocalypse framing...max of course loses everything he has to lose, leaving the duration of his time in the game as a kind of ghostly afterlife where he's not truly living (in fact, not living at all....fictional character!). every form of authority is powerful enough to feel like theyre actively making the world worse, but not powerful enough to feel like anyone is actually in control of all the chaos. max leaves the confines of his body and briefly realizes he's a fiction, existing to serve people other than himself, who he cannot meaningfully comprehend the existence of. and ofc fimbulwinter holds the whole city in a chokehold that you never quite forget about, even as it is essentially the ambient noise. personal, political, existential, and natural apocalypse...whether any of it translates to Depth exactly im not rly convinced of lol, but it glues everything together in a way that would have been easy to skimp out on, and would have left the game much weaker and less vivid for it...a good show of Art Instincts on the part of remedy and with all of this strong creative syntax holding the thing together, the surface level is left to just be so charismatic and memorable. i love all the fictional pop culture they made up for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up little universe, i love the friends-and-family casting in the faux-comic book cutscenes and dorky-ass npc faces, i love the non-jumping puzzle parts of the nightmare sequences, and even tho the script is fairly amateurish its in a personable and effortful way where lake's actual skill hasnt caught up to his raw talent and enthusiasm. its just such a lovingly handmade game...a distinct and self-sufficient piece of art that very naturally suggests a larger personality for the creative voices behind it. im curious what else they have in store!

4 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
4 on sale11 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 11 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 4 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

dont buy cant play it just crashes and has no sound at all
Unfortunately, the game is bugged, crashes on the door after the yellow train, plus voices during story telling is not working (no max payne audio..)
Audio is busted unless you download a fan made mod. Not really wanting to do that. Game seems fun if you want to go through that kind of effort.
1. worth the amount of time it took trying to make it playable 2. f5 has seen a lot recently and will probably need a break
Wow, this game really holds up for its age! The graphics are apropos to its age. Its story is presented primarily in as a graphic novel/comic with voiceovers from a voice actor Remedy continued to use in Control, with Sam Lake's likeness for the main character. The slow-motion "Bullet Time" leap/dive is a fun mechanic and makes for cool mini-cinematic shots while you're mowing down the baddies. One resolved technical issue for me: It's for keyboard & mouse but I got it to work with a controller by slowing the mouse down to my desired speed in the Steam controller settings for the game and within the game settings, to help with aiming using the controller joystick. I can't say enough about Remedy and their story-telling strength. Take the chance to experience the original which might have officially been part of the Remedyverse (along with Quantum Break, if not for ownership issues), which, at minimum, includes the fantastic Alan Wake series and Control.
This is still a must play game! Story and gameplay is top notch.
As close to perfect as a game can get. Does for third-person action shooters what Half Life did for FPS games--set a standard that would be replicated and subtly improved upon for decades to come. What hasn't been improved upon (as far as I've played at least) is the unmatched grimdark neo-noir psychological horror atmosphere and story. It's uncompromisingly intense, unrelenting in its depressive descent into the seemingly unending dark night of a broken man's soul.
Great memories of when my first PC struggled to even run this.
So, right after download it can't be played. Casually looking into it tells me I've gotta do quite a bit on the side with Windows 11 This is not an end of the world issue but it is enough to make me wish I hadn't spent the money.
