In my opinion, not adding animation acceleration, and even deliberately disabling the cheat engine or something like that, is overkill. The game itself is good, but there are many other games of a similar scale. If a player decides to speed up the game or cheat to complete the game faster or test something, that's their choice. If the developers are against it, they can always add a god mode. By the way, although I play in English, Russian would be nice too, at least with subtitles. Time is valuable, especially for people who want to play many games and finish at least some of them. Deliberately padding out the playtime of an already long game is not the best design choice.
The gameplay is interesting but the writing... After 5 minutes I was getting annoyed By the end of the game I was skipping entire conversations because I could no longer bear it. Every spoken line is lacking in any kind of depth; they all try to be "funny" quips, but it's an oversaturation that makes them all just plainly annoying.
Literally my first review on Steam: The game is underrated, it's great. Don't let other "reviewers" use this space as a soap box. DRM sucks, we all know that. Review the game on its merits. That's why people read reviews. Otherwise, I can yap about anything on here and give reviews on gas prices.
As for now, the game is unplayable on my PC. Frequent crashes, mods not working, settings changing (all online and cloud services turned off). Why I do not accept that the problem is on my side is the fact, that a) it was working on this very same rig two years ago b) the epic games version works flawlessly.
Look, I wanted to like this. I love Marvel, I love turn-based combat, I love card games, and I love engine-building for synergy. This game has all of that, but the pacing kills it for me. Combat just feels...slow. Like everything has more health than it needs to have. The graphics and controls are great, but combat (even thinky, tactical combat) shouldn't be a slog. If I'm wondering how much longer I'll have to keep whaling on a guy I've already clearly beaten, there's something wrong.
I spent a good hour or so just trying to get the game to work (constant flickering, stuttering, poor performance, surprisingly frequent crashes, etc.) only to find the experience to not be even remotely worth the effort. As far as I can tell the game was completely abandoned a few years back, so I'm sure there are plenty of other issues I haven't managed to run into yet. The dialogue is painfully cringey even by Marvel standards, and not one of the characters ever stops yapping. The gameplay is fine, but ultimately nothing to write home about. Maybe it gets better later on, but I'd have a difficult time convincing myself, let alone someone else, that it's worth sticking around long enough to find out.
14 day online-check in is so anti-consumer that this will be the last 2k game I will have bought.
Polecam! Każda walka dawała dużo frajdy i wymagała nieraz kombinowania z efektami i elementami otoczenia.
