Didn't think I could ever love an extraction shooter this much. Unique universe and artistic vibe. Amazing gunplay. Insane potential. Personally, I have faith in those devs! Also as someone who usually prefers co-op in these kinda games, Marathon has made me crave the PvP aspect. FOR ARACHNE!
amazing artsyle and aesthetic, great map design that rewards your knowledge, fights never feel unfair and i've never run into hackers. it is very difficult to get into and do good in but it rewards persistence and patience. can get pretty buggy after updates but im told thats just how it is with bungie
Marathon Review I’ve been really enjoying Marathon so far. The first thing that stood out to me was just how good the atmosphere is. The sound design is probably one of my favourite parts of the game. Every gunshot, footstep and bit of background noise adds to the tension and makes every run feel unpredictable. It does a great job of making you feel like you’re constantly on edge. The gunplay is probably the biggest highlight for me. I’ve put thousands of hours into Destiny, and Marathon immediately has that same feeling that makes Bungie shooters so satisfying to play. The weapons feel great, the feedback is excellent, and every fight feels smooth and responsive. Bungie just does gunplay better than anyone else, and that experience really shows here. I’ve also been impressed with the performance. The game runs really well and feels polished, which makes a big difference in a game where quick reactions and smooth gameplay matter. One downside I have noticed is the longer matchmaking times, which seem to have become more noticeable as the player count has dropped. It’s a real shame because the game deserves a bigger audience, and waiting longer to find matches can take away from the experience. Hopefully, the player base can grow again because there’s a lot here to enjoy. The UI can sometimes be confusing and awkward to navigate. My biggest issue is the forced seasonal reset. I understand why they want seasons to feel fresh, but it’s hard not to feel like some of your progress gets taken away. I honestly wouldn’t mind the resets as much if faction progress carried over between seasons. Having something permanent to work towards would make the time you put in feel more rewarding while still allowing seasons to change things up. Overall, I’ve got a lot of value out of Marathon and have had a great time playing it. The atmosphere, sound design and gunplay are all excellent, and it feels like Bungie has created a really solid foundation. There are definitely some things that need improving, especially around progression and the current player count, but I’ve had a lot of fun with it and hope the game continues to find its audience.

Absolutely amazing game, the ongoing hate is so incredibly forced. Fantastic and fresh audio-visual design and the game's overall atmosphere are one of a kind experience for me.
I would like to thumbs up this game for being a dead game
Fun gun play and game mechanics. Takes a little bit to get used to like most extraction shooters. Some menu tasks are a little over complicated, but it's well worth a try!
