Marathon has all the ingredients for a great extraction shooter, but it never comes together into something worth sticking with. The gunplay is solid, and the visuals are excellent, but that's where most of the praise ends. Matches quickly start to feel repetitive, progression is slow, and the risk-versus-reward balance rarely feels satisfying. Too often it feels like you're spending 20 minutes gathering gear just to lose everything in an encounter that wasn't fun or fair. The biggest issue is that the game lacks its own identity. It borrows ideas from other extraction shooters but doesn't improve on them, leaving it feeling like a watered-down version of games that already do the genre better. Team balance, matchmaking, and the overall pacing all need serious work. I wanted to like it, but after dozens of hours I realized I was playing out of hope that the next update would fix things instead of actually having fun. Maybe it'll be worth revisiting after major changes, but in its current state, I'd save your money and your time.
лучше бы они вернули Конкорд, чем Марафон
It’s a great looking game story is interesting gunplay is satisfying just disgustingly boring metas and overall almost entirely ran by stacked squads solo is camp fest and fills isn’t horrible just I think there should be gear based matchmaking cause how do I go in purple loadout and get two free kits idc if your level 200 diamond 1 that’s not helping me in a fight against a gold squad if your a one shot fest hitting them with wet noodles sometimes you can get the jump but either they learn or those players just don’t bring in gear
ttk is waaaay too fast for an extraction shooter like this. It'd be great for like, an arcade shooter, something where one death doesnt mean sitting through several loading screens to try again, but it does not work here.
Worst new player experience known to man. They will give you a tiny tutorial, then you will be DRAGGED through every menu in the game. But you will not learn anything, that's literally illegal. No, you have 5 seconds to take in the layout before they blacken the screen like a mobile game and tell you to click the next option. Close the tutorial? Don't worry! It'll keep opening so you can't interact with any of the systems! Want to skip and figure it out yourself? The boxes close when you hit next, and the next one takes 5 seconds or so to show up the entire way through. Literal agony and there is no way anything is worth 5 minutes of unskippable garbage content that does nothing to ACTUALLY prepare you for the game because, once again, you cannot do anything during this sequence. May as well have been a hypercam youtube video showing off the interfaces.
Bungie invested in the wrong game.
Dead game lol
Game is already dead... It can be fun but its barren already.
The ugliest, most eye-sore, and unintuitive interface in my 35 years of gaming. The gameplay is fun, but I can't look at it because my eyes are hurting. And it's game from Bungie... considering what they've done to Destiny 2, which was my favorite game for a long time, I probably won't buy another game from them. They removed content I payed for.
