Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.14/day in the week to Jul 22 → 49.38/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

LOVE IT. Also wish it came with a campaign. Some of the best audio design and art work I have ever experienced.
It's not a for everyone, but the atmosphere and gameplay are very good. The movement and gunplay are top-notch, and it feels a lot like Apex Legends in how it handles with a lower TTK. End-game maps are very fun to run and to PvP, so if you're into PvP shooters I recommend this game. FWIW, I'm someone who dislikes extraction shooters, but this one is the only one that's gripped me. Additionally, the art-style is sick. If you're a casual player, I'd recommend doing some research and trying it out on a free-week/2 hour return window. I wouldn't say it's extremely sweaty compared to something like Counter-Strike, but the maps are pretty complex and have a higher learning curve. However, gunplay is not very difficult and there are some shells (characters) that can help you sneak around the map easier.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Absolutely love the idea of extraction shooters but haven’t loved any that I’ve tried… until Marathon. This game sands off a lot of the rough edges you get with other games in the genre while still providing enough friction to keep you engaged. The world building is incredibly well done with a fantastic art style that feels very unique and well thought out. Text and VO codex entries that you unlock provide you with glimpses into the world and are very engaging, especially if you’re interested in the lore from the previous games in the franchise. The audio design is unparalleled. I urge you to play solo and take your time sneaking through any given map, the sounds you hear in the dark and abandoned nooks and crannies of the maps can be downright haunting and add to the sense that you WANT to figure out what happened on Tau Ceti years before you showed up. All of the runner shells (preset characters you can play as) have unique play styles that are fun in their own ways and allow you to play in a way that works best for you. I was initially turned off by what seemed to be another hero shooter, but the personalities and designs of the shells are vague/nuanced enough that they never feel forced/cringe. The gunplay/combat both PvE and PvP feels like the bungie you’ve known and loved for decades. Equal parts Halo and Destiny, some guns feel like an analogue to guns you loved to use in either of the other respective franchises in the best way. If you’re a fan of either you’ll feel right at home. I’ve primarily played the game solo and have had a blast. The little bit of crew fill that I’ve done can be hit and miss, like any PvP game with random teammates, but if you’ve got a friend or two to play with the game can be exhilarating as you’re trying to gear up, solve environmental puzzles, and so on. Hoping for a more dedicated duos mode down the line (as of July 2026 one map allows for duos at a time, rotating on a daily basis, which can lead to a very stale night as you run the same map over and over and over. Rotating the Duos map on an hourly basis seems like it should be doable and would totally alleviate this problem). More PvE content/solo support would be incredible as well. As of right now (July 2026) the end game map only supports full teams of 3, either with friends or randoms, and is INCREDIBLY meta focused. Updates have been pushed out to try and change the meta in ways that help diversify the gear you can bring in but it’s definitely a tough map that REALLY intensifies the PvP aspect of the game. The PvE mode, Vault Breaker, added during the mid point of season 2 (July 2026) has been an absolute boon and I cannot wait to see what else they have in store for PvE come season 3. Working alone or with friends to cut your run time down and accomplish as much as you can in the 30 minute time limit is insanely fun and feels so rewarding when you hit that flow state and a run starts coming together. I think this game could have a really promising future as a team based PvE rougelike that also has a fantastic PvP component. The main thing it lacks right now is multi-map support and build diversity. But it’s an experimental mode at the moment so, understandably barebones. The game can be tough, as any PvP game can be, but losing everything in a run never feels as bad as it has for me in other games like Arc Raiders or Tarkov. There’s always a free loadout you can use, or cheap gear you can purchase (not for real money). Your next big win is always just around the corner if you’re willing to take your time and play smart. I cannot recommend Marathon enough. It’s a special game that has received copious amounts of hate for the sake of hating something. There’s clearly a passion for it at Bungie, as updates are frequent, and they’re not hesitant to try out new modes (like the limited time PvE experience), to see what works and what doesn’t.
Fun little extraction shooter with great visuals and an interesting world that you learn about through completing runs and objectives. The gameplay loop is easy to understand as a beginner, nothing too overwhelming and the game lets you do runs with free packs at first, meaning you can explore the map and its features without feeling like you're risking too much (which allows for a bit of a casual experience, maybe doesn't cater to hardcore players!) There is a bit of a player shortage problem which means you will scarcely run into enemy parties, but I'm optimistic that the product here is good enough that there's room for a revival. Besides, the PvE element is pretty fun and engaging so far. I've been solo queueing into trios and I tend to find a party within 3-4 minutes. In conclusion, I'd recommend this game if you're looking for something slightly more on the casual side.
i bought this game once before at full price and requested a refund, i've now purchased again on discount after hearing the changes and its still not much better, pve is okay but enemies are still kinda tanky only done a few quests so far and i feel like the movement is very slow feeling and damage is extremely high. i'm not a huge pvp player and feel like this one is just hyper aggressive like it was advertised, i feel like the game could benefit with a single player mode to explore and gather resources or a pve mode, leave the pvp for the ones wanting it would make this game much better. the few guns i used didn't feel very powerful and bullet tracking was minimal which is good but does make this feel more difficult than destiny or other fps games i'd say. overall i can't recommend unless they put a solo mode the 5+ minute wait for a map is not fun just to get killed in minutes if you run into another player or large group of enemies. The game is much more enjoyable in a party compared to solo, and it does feel "better" the more you unlock but i am not extremely moved by it still.
the game is against people who like to kill games , they killed destiny 2 and now they want to kill every game bungie has made cause they want destiny 3 so badly they're going keep on killing games until they get what they want
I figured with 500+ hrs I should give this game a review. First off, I genuinely love this game. The thing that is currently ruining this game the most is the core fighting style. For example, if you do not have a bubble shield or a misriah shotgun than 60% of your fights you will lose. Basically all encounters in ranked mode is just everyone throwing bubble shields and charging with shotguns. That's it. Doesn't sound too fun does it? That's because its not. It becomes frustrating. For months the player base has asked for a change but nothing has happened. Shotguns are still overpowered and bubble shields, in my honest opinion, just don't need to be in the game. I truly wanted this game to flourish, but after weeks of devs doing nothing I think its time to put the game down. At the time of writing this review the player base is down to around ~6k. That's not sustainable and I'm not going to recommend a dying game to someone to play. GG's Bungie.
