ManServant: Gay Visual Novel

It do be a great spicy game (I'll try to keep this as spoiler free as I can and this review will probably be pretty long) When I first saw this game in the store a couple of months ago, I was quite excited for the release. Having played a couple of other Visual Novels from Y Press Games I was so ecstatic that I snatched up the game right when it was available a few hours ago. (Since this is still a fresh release there will probably be some changes and patches for this game in the future but I'm not quite sure lol) (EDIT: I have fully completed this game as of now so I'll be adding on which opinions have changed) Even though I'm still in the middle of completing this game in it's entirety at the moment, I have completed two routes so far. With 5 hours of playtime as of now, I can confidently state that this game has exceeded most of my expectations so I highly recommend others to experience this game as well despite my own likes and dislikes. Let's jump into my personal pros and cons about the game so far. Pros: 1. The music in my opinion is phenomenal, when I had opened the game I was shook when I first heard it. I didn't find any scenes as of yet where the soundtrack didn't resonate with the scenes so that's great! 2. The character's personalities are portrayed well from what I had seen. I could easily see the differences between how each character acted and how they interacted with each other. 3. The Manga panel style is used amazingly in this VN, It adds a lot to the scenes which helps to keep your attention on what is happening. 4. The art is absolutely fantastic as well. I must admit, when I first saw this particular art style in the previous games I was a bit hesitant at first but I quickly fell in love with it. It's not an art style I've seen anywhere else but it's definitely one of my top favorites as of yet. 5. I can see quite the opportunity of this game having a lot of replay value as well even after completing all the routes and achievements. 6. There were very few typos that could be easily glossed over. Cons: 1. I think the most prominent are the lack of sound effects. It personally wasn't a problem for me but I felt like there were a few scenes that needed a bit of sound to help emphasize some actions and/or events that occurred during the game. 2. Since there is no voice acting, (Which is once again not a problem but am not used to) at some points I had to re-read some of the lines to make sure which was inner dialogue and which wasn't (But it could just be the result of me having the habit with reading at the speed of light) <- This was true 3. The spice is good, but I kinda wish that there was more development in the relationships. Because of where the story is set, I feel that it fits in well but at the same time I couldn't help but want to see the character's relationships be built a bit more despite everything. But anyways I still enjoy the game a lot! I have yet to do Titans' route and the poly one so there's a chance that my opinion might change. (EDIT: The poly route has given me what I was hoping for!) Claudius Of course the pros over weigh the cons for me and I'll definitely replay this game in the future. I hope to see more games by Y Press Games in the future!

Very unique take on the visual novels. NSFW on the kinly side. Beautiful art, great story and a nice surprise for the fanbase of YPG. Recommended for all the BL lovers out there!

It's gonna be a neutral review. I llove yaoi and try to read all available novels on Steam buut I always disliked how it's made by Y Press Games. Lots of time has passed since my last attempt to read and enjoy their games, sadly, I see no improvement. I like master/slave topics and here it's demon/human relationships, so it's very exciting. Nothing very cruel, btw, no consent as it's that kind of world but everyone, welp, except some bad chars, cared deeply about each participant's pleasure. So it was a nice combination of pain and passion. +Art is pretty. +I enjoyed the final endings a lot. Slowly the main characters grew on me and I started caring deeply, rooting for their happily ever after. I'm happy to see players are willing to devote their time for that, as some choices don't matter and routes may be unnecessary intricate, that's why officials guide are sold like separate dlcs, and they're not very cheap, lots of novels in my wishlist cost less than their guide O_o. In general, it always feels like a means to earn money without serious, soulful effort implied. I was supposed to write about positive things here but I guess I just can't :) [u] Complains[/u]: --Price. Their novels are always expensive, so you expect some thorough work done buut... –Writing is meh, as always. I've seen zero new words. It practically never happens when I read visual novels, but not here. --Typos. Why is it 'an oxen' all the time? I double-checked the dictionary, it's said as I always remembered an ox—oxen for plural form. --Art is nice and all BUT again and again it's totally the same like in other novels. I like the sprites, they are gorgeous but I'd like to see some new faces already. Plus, I was not the fan of that manga style CGs, white&black illustrations seemed more like initial drafts for future colorful visuals but it never happened. So it felt kinda cheap and rushed, as the whole story. Oh, and almost forgot, sometimes it was just black screen and a text. I've already mentioned how I dislike the writing, but the way all the routes are finished is especially disastrous. Sometimes it's not that bad, but quite often it's just terrible. I guess it IS some kind of skill to lead the storyline to a satisfying, logical finale but here (actually not only here, it's a general problem) it's always unexpected or feels totally unfinished, so I often just had to imagine what it was in my head myself. Totally unacceptable, in addition to black screens, just the name of the ending and an ach popped up, I was always sitting in my chair flabbergasted. --Routes feel repetitive again, with almost the same text and it's unskippable :( I practically memorized those parts having to reread them for the 4th time. Very annoying. --MC was extremely artificially annoying first. Plus, that pretty art felt totally ruined when chars twisted their faces, it was tooo exaggerated, so unpleasant, I tried to avoid looking at them at all. What for to make them so ugly?! Unnecessarily intense. On the one hand, it was a nice feeling to be on the demons' side, to wish for MC to submit and not to strive for freedom, equality...but still I feel it was made in a cheap way, it could have been written better. Just in a contrast to a poorly presented human protagonist I felt for demons more, not because they really deserved that. Honestly, I feel like a hater again, I sincerely expected some progress but I see none. Though despite feeling annoyed, mainly by the fact that this game could be so much more potentially but it was never realized, I still felt involved with the chars' relationship. LOVVEEED IT! -Ypress does it again! Here's, another game I've really enjoyed by them and I def 100% recommend it. This game definitely tops the cake. It's a visual novel/manga hybrid. So we get to see some really cool styles come into play like non color manga inspired art-mixed in with colored scenes. You'll not only get scenes strictly with non color and others with color at certain times, as well as pictures with changing color gradients from non color to color in certain moments, and 4 boxed panels that display certain art scenes. - Over all, I actually think I loved this hybrid version of a VN more than I thought I would! XD It does have some darker/spicy elements not for everyone. Triggers for the game are listed by Ypress, and they provide a warning before you officially start the game for anyone that missed the triggers listed on their page. Personally tho, there are darker games out there, that are certainly DARK/TORTUROUS by every means possible (such as some games by Nitro+chiral), so this was a nice breath of fresh air in what was for me: a nice, lighter, dark content driven game meant to give us the spicy XD! So I love, love, LOOOVEED IT!! Here's some facts about the game in case anyone needs them: -The game is about a 14-15hr play through (more or less depending on one's speed) -You have 3 ROs: Marius, Titan, & Claudius -Also, even better! A POLY route between Marius x Titan x MC -There's gorgeous BGS and CGs + beautiful NSFW art -AND YES! the BGs/CGs/and NSFW art is FINALLY accessible via a GALLERY (now, can we just plz get a game by you guys with a backlog button? You have no idea how many times I accidentally skipped a sentence and had to reload saves just to re-read it *cries*) -On that note, from up above: yes there's no back log/history button (so save frequently if you're an accidental skipper like I am) -There's a SKIP button for the end credits in the top left hand corner of the screen when the end credits play (it blended in so much that I accidentally didn't notice it until my last route play through) -Sexual positions include/but aren't limited to (in case I didn't remember correctly): *Marius being a top for the MC/bottom for Titan *Titan being a top all around *Claudius being versatile (but mostly top related in scenes) *MC being versatile (but mostly bottom related in scenes) And that was it! I hope anyone that buys & plays the game, enjoys it just as much as I did! It was truly a great game, and definitely unique in both it's play-through, delivery, and spiciness ;D! 100% recommend!

[h1] 악마 주인×인간 노예의 하드코어 플레이의 향연 [/h1] 18+ BL 인외물 비주얼 노벨 게임. 더빙 X. 고대 로마 시대 배경. 악마가 지배하고 인간이 노예인 세계관. 남주 Silvan이 주인 Hortensius의 말을 거역하자 주인이 팔기로 결심한다. 둘이서 함께 경매장으로 향하던 중에 황제 Titan이 탄 마차가 달려오는 걸 보고서는 남주가 겁도 없이 뛰어들어 마차를 가로막고 자기를 사가달라고 어필한다. 그래서 Titan이 마부를 통해 주인에게 돈을 지불하고 Silvan을 사간다. 황궁에 도착해 Titan, Marius, Claudius와 마주하는데, Titan의 마차를 가로막은 죄로 채찍질당한다... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그래도 결국 남주가 예쁘다는 이유로 처형하지 않고 노예로 삼기로 한다. 남주가 좀... 재수없다... ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 자뻑이 심하고 자신감이 넘치고 초반에 자꾸 자기 스스로 아름답다고 한다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 근데 다른 사람들 다 보는 데서 수치플 겪고나서 더 이상 안 깝친다... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 악마들한테 온갖 고문플을 당하는데 막상 당하면 즐기는 M이다. 남주가 어떤 굴욕을 맛보는지 보는 재미가 있다. Marius는 벌준다는 명목으로 남주를 굴복시키고 묶고 채찍질하고 고문하며 즐긴다. 남주가 초반에는 Marius를 꺼려하지만 M에 눈을 뜨고나서 당하는 걸 즐기고 노예 마인드 장착하고 Marius를 잘 따르게 된다. Claudius는 일을 잔뜩 주고 남주를 겁나 굴려댄다 ㅋㅋ 스윗하게 대하다가 남주가 자신을 무시하는 것 같으면 벌을 내린다. Titan은 네 안전보다 날 기쁘게 하는 게 더 중요시되어야 한다, 네가 날 신뢰하지 않기 때문에 두려워하는 거다 라면서 남주를 고문하고 남주가 고통스러워하는 모습에 희열을 느낀다. 개인적으로는 Marius 루트가 가장 재밌었다. [b] 추천 누르긴 했지만 사실 추천하기 애매한 게임이다. CG가 별로였더라면 비추천 줬을 것 같다. BDSM 요소가 강하고 CG 일러스트가 적나라하며 자극적이긴 한데... H씬이 별로 안 꼴리고 설정과 스토리도 만족스럽지 않다. [/b] <아쉬운 점> - 악마가 세상을 지배하고 인간이 하찮은 존재인 세계관이므로 Silvan, Julian, Aquila 외의 다른 인간들이 비굴하고 치욕스럽게 사는 모습을 보여줬더라면 더 재밌었을 것 같다. - 전체적으로 대사가 좀 유치하다. - 패턴이 똑같아서 좀 질리고 스토리가 지루하다. - Titan, Marius, Claudius가 너무 못생겼다. - 행위에 대해 구체적인 묘사 없이 대화 및 남주의 중계로 서술되어 있으며 에로틱한 분위기를 연출하지 않아서 엄청 꼴리진 않다...; - Titan×Marius, Titan×Pluto 설정은 굳이 넣지 않아도 됐을 듯. (Silvan이 지켜보는 앞에서 Marius가 당하는 장면은 흥미로웠다.) - Silvan, Julian, Aquila가 짓는 몇몇 표정이 좀 킹받는다.

[h1]Предупрежу сразу обзор игры стилизован под комментарий[/h1] В целом понравилась только музыки хватает только на 4 сюжетных достижения хоть она и обалденная (а достижений 14). Из-за этого она конечно быстро надоедает. Пройти все концовки относительно легко. [spoiler] Клавдий оказался серой лошадкой. Мариус в душе романтик, но жесток, Титан мягкий и жаждет любви. Карн забавный персонаж он министр пыток, но нас не пытал зато сделал пирсинг. За его концовку был прозван мной "бог пирсинга" в шутку конечно.[/spoiler] Немного странно, что весь последующий сюжет зависит от одного только выбора мастера в самом начале. Казалось, что с появлением Сильвана, что-то может измениться. В целом это кстати единственная визуальная новелла которая заставила меня читать 90% текста. Обычно же я читаю в таком жанре от силы 50. Потому, что то вам описывают 15 минут серый будни ГГ то, как кто-то постучал в дверь, но мне как игроку нет до этого никакого дела потому, что персонаж не сюжетный и ничего кроме покупки с озона он принести не в силах. Тут же текст читать обязан. Не прочтёшь абзац, уже в следующем абзаце ничего не поймёшь, так же в тексте часто раскрываются характеры героев. Плюс порадовало что Сильван не дурак! Он рассудителен и беспокоится за свою жизнь. А не как во всех порно играх ГГ обычно вертит попой без разбора и флиртует со всем от мраморной статуи до палача. Тут повторюсь такого нет! Оценка... Это сложно. Думаю между 7 и 8, но с учётом того что это лучше что было. [h1] 8 из 10!![/h1]

Finally a game that features BDSM and has a decent plot. It shows the comfort after the pain and the way one can give himself to another. I like the essence of the game. Yeah, some positions the characters are in are a bit awkward and, yes, it is a bit short. The game itself though is a comfort to all those, who like it a bit more rough in bed and know how to appreciate the comfort after. This is a game for kinksters and those who try something new. I adore the devoted submission in some of the later scenes and how the warm fluffy feelings are conveyed even when the activity in bed itself is rough. This game warms my heart and I am very thankful for the developers for developing it and sharing it with us. I am sure there were some controversal opinions, so thank you so very much for publishing it anyway. It means a lot that someone finally showed this side of BDSM in a game. I hope you either give us the option to buy more DLCs with further content for this game later on or devlop more games like this. I recommend this game to all who love BDSM or are interested in understanding it better. Love it!

Tedious. I forced myself to read the dialogue but there was thousands of lines of dialogue with very few steamy scenes. The artwork was very nice but there was little of it and they kept repeating the same artwork over and over and over and over..... Waste of time.

Choices are almost non-existent. I do not feel an active participant in it but a passive reader. Very shallow characters with little development. Story arcs are way too short and the scenes uninspiring. I have since uninstalled. Is this worth $20? No. Is this worth $5, maybe.

Nice theme. Could be darker with a bit better art though.
