The world’s most irreverent co-op action adventure returns! In the next chapter of Magicka, players ascend from the ruins of Aldrheim to experience a Midgård almost wiped free of Wizards after the Wizard Wars, with the few that do remain having either gone mad or extremely hostile toward all others

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Pros:
+Plenty of scope for creativity when it comes to spells as it always was with magicka. +A lot of unique enemies with their own weaknesses and strenghts. +Interesting boss fights that do not share same pattern. +Graphics and animation improvement compared to first game. +The UI is convenient and easy to operate. +Player can choose with which robe/staff/melee would like to start which in first game was huge issue. +Funny dialogues that fill the gameplay rather than focusing on combat only. +A lot of secrets and unlocks, all of which have unique conditions to unlock and special areas tied to them. +Game doesnt crash as often as the first title and is actually playable. +Well made levels, there is many details that are easily missed but actually make the levels less boring and more alive.
Cons:
-Incredibly dumb difficulty of the game: At "Bananas" difficulty game is just barely playable, enemies outheal almost every spell we deal, while player dies from one melee attack, or from spell that was conjured in his direction for 0.5s. Player also cant move while casting spells which makes us insanely vulnerable. Trials should be completly reworked-especially timed ones, "Alliance timed trial": player has just 1 minute to kill 3x mega bosses which are absolutely immune to every spell unless we cast speciffic magick that removes all spells in small area (including bosses's shields), but-bosses call for their troops and small map suddenly is packed with 3x mega bosses and 9x hard to kill troops which respawn forever-player obviously dies as soon as he takes any dmg from anything during this trial-our death adds 15s to the timer and we only have 1 minute to finish it, magicks are shuffled with every retry (player has basic spells in quick slot bar instead of spells of his own choice)-it can be changed mid battle but it wastes a lot of time and almost everytime results in death. One boss (Elf Queen) can ignore player's shield walls-her projectiles and beams pass through for some reason, player has no way to defend himself from attacks at all since every boss has different strengh to different element. Its extremely RNG based and as unfair as possible, other trials are not this much different. -Content locked behind DLCs:
Magicka 2: Gates of Midgård Challenge pack:
Content that should be included in the base game, challenges it offers can be finished incredibly quickly and whole dlc doesnt have this much content, its incredibly small and feels like lazy cash grab.
Magicka 2: Three Cardinals Robe Pack:
This dlc costs 1/3 of the base game and offers: 3x new robe 3x new staves 3x new melee weapons All of which feel incredibly powerful and even P2W. The fact that this pathetic amount of content costs 1/3 of the base game is just sad and shows how lazy and greedy devs are.
Magicka 2: Ice, Death and Fury:
This one costs over 2/3 of the base game and most of reviews state it right away "this dlcs is P2W" "Scenarios" this dlc offers are very mid and yet again-done poorly, like it was all rushed, all of them can be finished incredibly quickly. Items this dlc contains are very OP and broken, they give MASSIVE bonunes with almost zero negatives, weakest items from this dlcs compared to strongest ones from base game are still superior. Every single dlc this game has is poorly done, and has significantly stronger items compared to base game, more than 50% of reviews under each dlc state that they are P2W. Very dirty move. -Bugs, while this game is far better in this field than first Magicka, it still needs a lot of polishing and fixes. Crashes still can happen but not as often as in first game, in-game chat simply doesnt show up most of the times, player right after cutscenes can die for no reason as if killed by some invisible force, maps have missing textures at certain angles or in certain places, some enemies can ignore player's shield walls which should not happen, game sets player magicks to default for no reason (no matter what is done, game doesnt acknowledge player choice for some reason),spirits that are supossed to revive player can freeze and take quite long time to revive us. There is still a lot of bugs to mention, but whats the point when no one from the dev team cares? -Insanely grindy achievements: "Kill your friends 1000 times" "Revive your friends 1000 times" "Die 1000 times" "Kill yourself 1000 times" "Deal 20m dmg" "Kill 10k enemies" "Heal 2m hp" I had played this game 3x times-each time starting from beggining, and after all those playthroughs I didnt even reach 50% completion for any of achievement listed there.Only way to get them is boring and long grind cause these values are not possible to achieve in normal playthroughs. Other achievements are a bit less dumb if not for the difficulty issue I mentioned earlier, game requires from player to finish all trials and challenges on highest possible difficulty which is beyond masochistic. -Random settings shuffle, sometimes game for no reason changes settings, applying worst textures or toggles off/on certain options. -Base shield spell (E) doesnt work at all, it doesnt reflect beams, it doesnt protect agains physical spells like ice shards or boulders, it doesnt even prevent enemies from phasing through it. Its literally useless on its own-in first Magicka it worked properly-Base shield (E) absorbed beams, boulder, melee atacks or any other type of dmg, and the shield took it instead of player, shield could be even recharged so it could last forever, but in Magicka 2 it serves only as an ingridient for more complex spells. (if conjured on player-it does reflect beams, but area cast or normal cast spawns shield which doesnt do anything) -no possibility of spells deletion, player has to cast missclicked spells instead of just abandoning them, in some cases its very uncomfortable (spells that have earth element in it-player has t ocharge it or it will fall nearby and dmg/kill us), or generally slowing player down while casting (on harder difficulty every spell makes player unable to move while casting).
Overall:
Its a good title ONLY if you're looking for one-time playthrough on easy difficulty, and when you dont plan to 100% the game, anything beyond that is barely possible to achieve and straight up tortures based on RNG when it comes to enemy AIs, also some achievements require heavy grind for several hours/days. Every single dlc this game has is heavily P2W and over 50% of negative reviews prove it-stating the same thing. Game has a lot of bugs but is playable unlike the first Magicka, and it lacks balance on difficulties higher than easiest one. There is nice and comfortable UI where player can choose his own equipment (which in first game was huge issue since it didnt exist)
3.5/10

I obtained every single unlock this game had to offer, got every achievement, and finished game several times-including trials and challenges on hardest difficulty possible, I found every secret there was and gained experience and knowledge to write this review-so everything above is pure facts, not my opinion.
Игра чудесная, знаю кто отцы инвокера. а если без шуток игра погружает в лёгкое приключение.
Its like they sold the IP to a completely new set of devs to make a console version of Magicka 1. They took away many of the things that Magicka 1 fun but also nigh impossible to play with a controller (like the vast number of spell variations). While they were at it, they took away the vast majority of interesting/quirky weapons/staffs. But worst of all, gone is the humor. I frequently got a good chuckle out of everything from the Monty Python references to how the in-game language translated. This has none of that. Even once I got past the fact that its not Magicka 1, its just not really fun. The game seems to be basically: Figure out what element the opponent is using, then cast that shield spell on yourself. Then figure out what the opponent's elemental weakness is, then use that on your sword. Kill them. If you're running low on health, its faster to die and resurrect yourself than to bother healing. Rinse, repeat.
убил себя молнией, наколдовал другу вич, упал в воду, заморозил сам себя. в общем пока 10 магов из 10
Paradox botched this previously great series badly.
