Magical Battle Festa

Honestly getting through the tutorial was a struggle because of how annoying the main character's voice is.

The controller mapping is broken if you use an XBOX controller. It doesn’t matter what buttons you set in the game menu, it won’t change the ‘default’ setting. This particular default setting the game uses is MISSING functionality you need to play the game! You cannot lock onto an enemy or use a special attack if you are using an XBOX controller. You’re forced to use a Playstation controller or the keyboard instead. The in-game combat is brainless; most AI enemies you face can be destroyed if you simply spam X and then Y to win. There’s a tiny window of recovery after you’ve been attacked which they don’t use. So, you can knock them down and then just keep doing the same two attacks over and over. That is, until you come to the final bosses who are frustratingly annoying to fight, especially when they are at low health. They will lock onto you, blast attacks and won’t let you recover at all. When you try to attack them, even with a distance attack, they’ll have their shield up at the perfect moment most of the time. In any case, the combat is boring, becomes monotonous quickly, and presents no challenge. There’s next to no strategy involved. In fact, the only time I had to use some form of ‘strategy’ was during boss fights, and that involved running from them and using distance attacks, then attacking close, then running away again... rinse and repeat. The story is ridiculous and every conversation at the start of a battle is an information dump. Its as generic as generic gets, and I skipped most of the dialogue. The characters mouths don’t move when they talk; they may as well have placed mannequins in their place instead, that’s how stiff they look. The game performs OK and the presentation is fairly good, that’s about it. Avoid this game at all costs otherwise.

Tags: 3PS - Third Person Shooter Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Anime girl tactical combat with stiff cameras, clunky cooldown powers and chaotic confused action with an arguably stupid artificial intelligence and odd encounter flow. I would recommend you just play Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash. You get a few abilities, and you can customize with the card loadout. In comparison Magical Battle Festa offers to let you enter in formations what hijack your control inputs with your teammate for added firepower. You can go from mellee to ranged modes. But the ranged attacks are not simple aim and point and have this odd shoot forward only restriction. There were landmines all over and the characters were all yelling and talking over each other with their pre-recorded voices. It all became an undecipherable mess very quickly. The game plays fairly alright in terms of framerates, but the PC menus seem akwardly introduced and presented to the player, and it would seem that this is some sort of a port from somewhere. Maybe it is possible to grow accustomed to the odd blend of remote control inputs and tactical mechanics along with the messy action flow but as far as I am concerned I will simply label this as outcompeted and keep an eye out for better iterations in the same genre as there is potential in the concept. https://store.steampowered.com/app/696170/SENRAN_KAGURA_Peach_Beach_Splash/

The game is pretty fun I think. :) you may need to adjust your configure settings a bit in the main menu before playing depending on your laptop \ pc. the game was super laggy at first so I had to adjust my settings around which seemed to fix it really well. :) Overall it's a pretty nice game. The graphics and voice acting is well done and the music is catchy :) This game isn't for everyone but I'd say give it a chance if your curious

Runs like garbage on an Atom z8700. Yes I know Atoms are terrible, but it should still meet the minimum spec. No matter how low I set the setiings the game runs at the exact same terrible framerate. This shows that the game is poorly optimized. I've run games that are more demanding than this better. Also, the load times are stupidly long.
