The game is just not very good. There is no opportunity for player agency since most 'choices' are simply 'choose left or right', 'attack/don't attack' or 'pass fitness or you die'. Literally zero context clues as to the potential outcomes of your choices. There is no strategy to the combat either. It is simply who rolls the highest die wins so it's incredibly frustrating. The worst and most glaring error is that there is NO way to actually beat the game properly unless you collect one particular item that you'll never know to collect unless you go to that location even though it's described as dangerous. And because of the previous criticism of lack of context clues, once you bypass this point there is no way to actually win. If you decide to play this game, play Casual mode. The amount of trial and error and brute force this game requires to actually win makes the 3 bookmarks worthless. Do yourself a favor though, skip this game.

An Assassin in Orlandes
Nota: 8/10
An enjoyable first entry in the Gamebook Adventure series. You are pursuing an assassin through the world of Orlandes to try and uncover a wider plot and also save your beloved Kari. The story is interesting and the world of Orlandes makes a great setting. The dice roll system used in combat can seem a bit harsh at times, but overall the game is really well designed and nicely set-out on the screen. The game has three difficulty settings and it is long enough and challenging enough to provide a good amount of replay value. There are some excellent b&w artworks to collect, as well as a set of ten achievements to complete. Steam trading cards are also available from this game, if you like that sort of thing. Overall, the game is good vfm.
PS: the game has a great sting in the tail.

Gameplay: 4/10

Graphics & Sound: 4/10

Narration: 5/10
✔️ Interesting intrigue ✔️ User friendly features - the possibility to "cheat" makes the game far more enjoyable by my standards 💭 Very old-fashionned in all its aspects ❌ The writing isn't awful, but it does tend to be a bit awkward sometimes ❌ The few game mechanics aren't explicit and must be tried out once before you can actually understand how they work ❌ Unsightly visual assets ❌ Boring and repetitive music Overall a rather mediocre experience, but the game comes at less than 3€ on sale, so it could be said it's worth its price. An okay-ish old-school narrative parenthesis between two better games, but far from being a really fulfilling experience.

Muss wohl was drangewesen sein.
Great little storybook game, and really brings me back to when I was a child playing these books The story is enjoyable and plenty of options in how to reach your target. Do be warned, high fitness is an asbolute must imo in order to complete this book. Well worth a buy imo.
An Assassin in Orlandes is a computerised version of the physical "Fighting Fantasy" style "turn to section xx" book based RPG of the same name by GameBook Adventures. While the general concept is viable, in this case, there is a bug which causes the mouse pointer to be invisible, rendering the game unplayable. I cannot recommend this due to the game breaking bug.
