About
Anything that kills you becomes playable for your next runs.
Will you be tempted to die on purpose in a successful run to unlock the enemy you face? Dying is more bittersweet when the boss that took you down becomes the instrument of your revenge.
With dozens of playable characters, you’ll find your favorite playstyle. Play to its strengths, go beyond Hell or above Heaven, and discover why you’re stuck in the Purgatory.
Lost In Prayer's characters have:
Specific equipment slots: Not every loot will be useful for your character. Sadly, our big turtle-like guy, the Godly Terapin, can’t fit any chest armor on him.
Unique skill sets to unlock: You can play the same character in different ways thanks to a wide skill tree.
The odds are stacked against you, so whether it is part of your environment or a combination of your abilities, seize any opportunities to gain the upper hand. You’ll need it.
Create deadly Combos. Leave a burning circle at every step, swap your place with your enemy, and push them into traps using the Tango skill. Freeze enemies where they are before launching an area-of-effect attack
Create the perfect outcome for you with Lost In Prayer's extensive skill system:
Pull an enemy into the projectile of its allies.
Build up your Power at every step before inflicting a deadly blow to that pesky demon.
Push that pretentious Angel into burning lava with a well-placed headbutt.
Use hit-and-run tactics to inflict damage at every step before heroically escaping to the other side of the room.
Hit multiple enemies in your line of sight with a deadly ranged attack.
With their own inhabitants, environments, traps, and quirks, Heaven and Hell propose radically different experiences. You’ll need to explore both to unlock all characters in Lost In Prayer.
So if you’re tired of dying in one route, try your luck and skills with the other.
No matter the path you choose, every floor will challenge you more than the last. Victory is going to be a hell of a challenge.

Honestly, I bought the game just to give this studio money because I like them. Plus side is i like the game.
Lost in Prayer is my first traditional roguelike. I wasn't sure if I'd like the grid based gameplay as I worried it would take the fun out of a good build due to being slower and (sort of) turn based. The game hooked me, however, and it's absolutely fantastic. It is difficult as you're beginning and learning the mechanics, and then as you familiarize yourself with them it becomes manageable. Mistakes will still lead to failure VERY FAST though (I just had what felt like a god run end due to me being a dummy and not thinking things through). Unlocking new characters by dying to them is very cool and added a lot to the early game. It really made me think on what I valued more when I was in the middle of a really good run - did I want to push through and try to succeed in the run, or did I want to die to the cool-looking new enemy so I could play as them? The only downside is that there is a finite amount of characters, so this loop does come to an end eventually (looking forward to more being added throughout early access though). And characters play very different from each other which is awesome. The game in its current state does not explain much and forces you to deduce or learn through trial and error. This goes for things like how stat upgrades scale, how characters are meant to be played, and even what effect different potions give you. To be clear, this is not a negative - figuring these things out, such as unlocking a new character and spending a little time trying to understand how their kit functions before playing them for the first time, was a ton of fun. All in all, I would highly recommend this game to anybody who is even remotely interested. And the "endgame" of trying to clear both Heaven and Hell with each character is addicting, as the types of builds to make different characters viable are very diverse and interesting.
i played the demo and enjoyed it, but.. as a gamer i want to keep pushing forward and i thought the full game was going to allow you to continue after reaching the boss fight but no, ones you kill the boss you have to start from nothing all over again. i understand the start kill die repeat but you need to follow a specific build to even reach the final boss. try the demo, if you like it the main game has the same limitations as demo so just wait until full release
Incredibly addicting right off the bat. This game seems very promising and the devs seem very passionate. Happy to support the development proccess!
Love these kind of games. It's an old school rouge-like with modern 3D graphics. Surprised how well-versed it is in deep Christian lore as well. Also I'm a sucker for Chebyshev movement (8-way, Chess King) style movement in grid-based games as opposed to taxicab (4-way) style movement. Bought it and reviewing to hopefully push it along out of Early Access. :)
I kept it too long under my wishlist. Game loop is very fun and even kind of new, considering it's not a normal "monster capture" type of mechanic which is the core of the loop. Reminds me of how fun Dungeons of Dredmor was, a fresh experience just like this one. I specially loved the many references to Outward (a masterpiece btw, highly recommended). The many builds and choices are great. There are even some "brainless" builds, which I enjoy a lot. Graphics are OK, visual style is "hit-or-miss" (if you loved the styiling in Outward it might suit you yoo!), performance is Good, soundtrack is Good too. Get the game if you enjoy fast roguelikes and gameplay loops.
Love Nine Dots & this game is chill... Can't wait for Outward 2 most thoooo
It's pretty fun. I think it takes getting a few different characters before you can start to understand what the game wants you to do. It's a lot more like chess than I expected, where you're moving around a board to try and strike at the optimal time. I'm going to put it on the shelf a bit and let the devs cook, but I don't regret picking it up. Neat concept mix.
boring as hell
