Good game Cute bittersweet and fun rest assured this game isn't cute dark soul
I'm a sucker for cute anime games. Take my money, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
cute and funny
It's a cute souls-like. Not bad.
Another case of me wishing steam had more of a "meh" option for reivews, but alas, I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives, if only slightly! Little Witch has an honestly pretty unique magic system...kIND OF. You get 4 different elements to control, but you can easily replace any of the base abilities with a different gun type and nothing would change. Ice is an SMG, fire is a shotgun, thunder is a sniper, and standard (i forget the element lol) is close to a single-shot rifle (that one im iffy on, but you get the point lol). But then there's the added level of casting, which is fun, but leveling up haste, which is supposed to decrease the time spent casting, hardly does anything...so I never ended up casting unless it was for a puzzle. However, that fast paced combat was right up my alley!! And then the mana reserves deplete way too fast, so you're left in this awkward needing-to-melee limbo until your magic recharges so you can get to the good gaemplay again. It's like the game punishes you for using your magic! The enemy variety left much to be desired, especially so since throughout the game you collect a 100 or so "items", which are literally only there to give you deeper lore...but none of the demihumans, beastians, and anything else they mentioned ever appear in the game. 80% of the game you'll be fighting amorpheous blobs of varying colors and sizes, but they are still blobs. The bit of variety we did get in the dolls and knights were great! I just wish there were more of them. Same thing for the aesthetics of this game too. It's just stone brick castle texture reused over and over and over again no matter where you go...apart from the cave area. The bosses, however, were all pretty damn sick. There's not a single boss in this game I can say I disliked, though they could have went a little harder on the difficulty. For some reason every boss in the game was a breeze besides Tania for some reason. She kicked my ass! Final boss was genuinely so damn cool too. Love the twist related to her at the end. Speaking of, there's the lore items that hardly relate to what you're going through in the game. What we got from those items was really cool, which makes the actual game's story even more disappointing. They built up this super deep world but then maybe they realized the scope was way too big. I'm looking forward to any sequels where we can actually delve into the world more. Otherwise, the actual story of Nobeta just boiled down to Nobeta being confused and how "this is all so new" to her. I can't think of the right words to describe her...She's cute, but hollow. A big defining moment for her is just going in the opposite direction the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cat said to go in. (Yes, I know it makes sense after beating the game, but they could have hooked you better) Also, the fanservice is appreciated ;)
BREED
A short, cute, combat focused souls like
I can't recommend this game enough. The story isn't anything too special, but it's charming enough to keep you engaged. You also get plenty of cute outfits which is always a plus in any game. While the basic enemies don't offer much variety in combat, the boss fights is where this game shines, switching between ranged spells and melee attacks makes fights engaging and fun. Little Witch Nobeta is a real gem
