Every spell has two fire modes: normal shooting mode (simple left-clicking) and a charge shot (press R to charge, left-click to fire). Each time you attack, you consume mana. But you can instantly recharge your mana by melee, dodging the incoming attack, or by absorbing it (parrying). You can find out more abilities from each spell as you play along. Boss fights are also enjoyable and have pretty solid patterns. It also has some minor flaws. For example, the animation and camera during cutscenes are stiff and rigid. The timing gap between dialogues is a bit too long, which makes conversations feel unnatural. However, those flaws are trivial compared to the overall game experience, rewarding exploration, and combat. I had a great experience and a pleasant playthrough and managed to beat the trial tower mode (boss rush mode). Their lore and worldbuilding are promising. I wish there would be an open-world sequel.

The game feels clunky to me but overall it is a good package. The early game can be frustrating but there is good reward learning enemy patterns. I got this as a gift, but game is short and I find it difficult to justify full price for this.
