Life is Strange Remastered

The original Life is Strange is one of my all-time favorite games, which makes it incredibly painful to say that I cannot recommend this remaster-even at the heavily discounted sale price I paid (less than $10 for the twin-pack bundle). I am deeply disappointed by how this release was handled. It is riddled with countless issues, making this one of the hardest negative reviews I’ve ever had to write. To put it simply: "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined." [h1]Technical Performance & Mess[/h1] The game is absolutely plagued with bugs. Gameplay interactions are fundamentally broken for instance, if you look down too far while trying to interact with an object, the prompt menu glitches out and completely disappears. You are forced to walk away and approach it again just to re-trigger it, which constantly shatters the immersion. Furthermore, the frame pacing is all over the place, especially during scene transitions and shifts from gameplay to cutscenes. Combined with heavy frame rate drops and prominent stutters, it’s safe to say this title is horribly optimized—if it was even optimized at all. Issues like these were completely non-existent in the original version. [h1]The Game-Breaking Glitch (Episode 4 Softlock)[/h1] I very rarely encounter game-breaking bugs, so I definitely didn't expect to find one in a remaster of such a beloved classic. During Episode 4, when trying to open the hatch to the Dark Room inside the barn, the game randomly teleports Max out of position. This breaks the sequence entirely, causing the game to think you haven't completed the necessary action to open the latch and progress. Because you cannot walk back to the spot to re-trigger the prompt, you are officially soft-locked. I restarted the checkpoint three or four times, but the exact same glitch happened every single time. It was the absolute cherry on top of a bad cake. [h1]Final Thoughts & Recommendation[/h1] The only reason this remaster gets a 5/10 is because of the sheer brilliance of the underlying game—the flawless narrative, the deeply moving characters, and the timeless story are still there. However, as a visual upgrade, it really isn't impressive. The only noticeable difference lies in the facial animations; everything else looks marginally better at best. Sacrificing overall performance and stability for such a minor graphical bump is unacceptable. I simply cannot recommend this version to anyone. If you want to experience this masterpiece the way it deserves to be experienced, stick to the original game. It is a far better, smoother ride. Painful as it is to type this out, this remaster is nothing more than a lazy cash-grab. [h1]Rating: 5/10[/h1]

9/10 for the Storytelling and variety of decisions to make in any/every scenario within the game and seeing the consequences or benefits afterwards.

I've played a few cinematic choices matter styled games such as The Batman Telltale series and honestly before booting up the game and streaming it to my friend I thought this would be one of those games, but boy oh boy was I wrong! Sure it might not have action like those games but the cinematography, the vibes, the soundtrack, the characters, they are all peak! As a 26 year old grown ass man I didn't think I'd enjoy this game that much since it has a lot to do with teenage college drama, but I was wrong on this too. I really cared about the characters all of them felt real and they weren't immersion breaking at all. The level of story stuff and detail is hella high in this game specially if you're one of those nosey players that checks everything. But the real meat of this game is the rewind aspect of the gameplay which is sth new that I've never seen before. This is one of those hidden gems that everyone should experience it no matter who they are. I give it a 9/10 and not a 10 because of a few minor nitpicks. The choices you make are really intense and consequential for sure but whatever you do at the end of the day kinda gets sidelined with the last choice you make for the ending. They easily could've shown a better montage for many many character fates and side story results. I wish the real ending that you'd get could've been a direct result of your previous actions, but that's not the case. Other than these notes, the game is a complete package in what it offers you. Now go capture that blue butterfly :)

It's a cult game, the remaster is excellent, the soundtrack is just amazing.

beautiful game, literally left me speechless. i would say that i prefer the original version in terms of graphics (even though i've only played ep1 but i still could tell a difference) and the barn glitch in ep4 of this remastered version was annoying asf but i'm not going to complain since i got the remastered version of lis1 and bts during a sale because it was cheaper than getting the original versions for both, so i only wanted to play the game for the story, didn't really care about graphics, and i was not disappointed at all, even sobbed at the end

Thats a great game with very good plot, i enjoyed playing through this game. But theres some things that give a huge minus - GRAPHICS. I personally like the type of graphics but sometimes its good and sometimes it look like sh*t, also in some cutscenes lightning destroy it all. A few times i had a bug where im stuck in an object and i couldn't move so i had to restart. ALSO why we can't skip cutscenes... especially in collections mode.. Overall if u like story games i recommend playing this but better to buy in on sale.

every action truly has it own consequences. no matter how hard max tried to change what it should be happened there's always something in return, i wanted to sacrifice arcadia bay but knowing chloe's character... she wouldn't be happy nor be thankful that max chose her instead of saving everyone including joyce. this game taught me that every indeed happens for a reason. can't wait to play the other life is strange games.
