The Life is Strange Remaster keeps everything that made the original a masterpiece: its emotional storytelling, immersive world, and unforgettable characters, while improving the visuals with better lighting, facial animations, and lip-sync. It’s the definitive way to experience this heartbreaking and beautiful journey. If you’ve played the original, it depends on whether the visual upgrades are worth it for you, but if you’ve never played Life is Strange before, what are you even doing? It’s 2026.. go buy it now!
Don't get me wrong, I really like Life is Strange, I just have problems with the remastered version. Before I bought this version, I saw a lot of reviews saying that there are a lot of bugs in the game, but i thought it was no big deal and bought the game anyway. Turns out it's a lot more annoying than I thought. Like when I select a choice, the question would disappear but the word i selected would remain on the screen. But the conversation would just get stuck. This was a problem throughout the game. I remember playing the demo of the original Life is Strange and didn't have this problem. I also wish that the cutscenes can be skipped. I tried to play this game a second time to try out different choicese but ultimately gave up because i got annoyed from watching cutscenes. I feel like I spent more time watching cutscenes than playing the game. I feel like this is a good game for people who love watching movies tho.
This was one of my brother's favorite games. I had to 100% it for him and throughout the entire game I was reminded over and over again of how much I miss him. I would give everything to have him back even just for a moment like max would for chloe but unfortunately I don't have the power to rewind time. I love you ben and I hope you played along with me wherever it is you are.
Good game!
I'm honestly so glad I decided to play this game. It's without a doubt - one of the best story driven games That I've ever played. It had me laughing, celebrating, and crying with my jaw on the floor. & I absolutely adore the main characters, Max, and Chloe. This one got me right in the feels, 10/10.
This game changed my life in a lot of ways and i genuinly just have so much love for it. I will never understand the hate for it..
I have no doubt Life is Strange is a game I will still be thinking about for years to come. I never played the original; only the remastered version and wasn't familiar with the storyline accept for the main protagonist, Max, could rewind time. Once I first launched the game, I couldn't put it down. I was captivated by the storyline and really enjoyed seeing each character's personality unfold. The game also deals with some rather sensitive themes I personally thought were handled with a lot of care. The only downside concerning game play is there seems to be a major glitch during one of the chapters when Max and Chloe are at the barn. I ended up having to take a break to research different ways around it, which resulted in me having to lower my computer's graphics to the lowest possible setting and doing a sequence of actions in a specific order to progress the game. For that reason, I don't think the game is worth full price. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and would recommend it! [disclosure: I did receive a copy of this game via steam gift from a friend]
Keyifli oyunlar.
The original Life is Strange is one of my all-time favorite games, which makes it incredibly painful to say that I cannot recommend this remaster-even at the heavily discounted sale price I paid (less than $10 for the twin-pack bundle). I am deeply disappointed by how this release was handled. It is riddled with countless issues, making this one of the hardest negative reviews I’ve ever had to write. To put it simply: "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined."
Technical Performance & Mess
The game is absolutely plagued with bugs. Gameplay interactions are fundamentally broken for instance, if you look down too far while trying to interact with an object, the prompt menu glitches out and completely disappears. You are forced to walk away and approach it again just to re-trigger it, which constantly shatters the immersion. Furthermore, the frame pacing is all over the place, especially during scene transitions and shifts from gameplay to cutscenes. Combined with heavy frame rate drops and prominent stutters, it’s safe to say this title is horribly optimized—if it was even optimized at all. Issues like these were completely non-existent in the original version.
The Game-Breaking Glitch (Episode 4 Softlock)
I very rarely encounter game-breaking bugs, so I definitely didn't expect to find one in a remaster of such a beloved classic. During Episode 4, when trying to open the hatch to the Dark Room inside the barn, the game randomly teleports Max out of position. This breaks the sequence entirely, causing the game to think you haven't completed the necessary action to open the latch and progress. Because you cannot walk back to the spot to re-trigger the prompt, you are officially soft-locked. I restarted the checkpoint three or four times, but the exact same glitch happened every single time. It was the absolute cherry on top of a bad cake.
Final Thoughts & Recommendation
The only reason this remaster gets a 5/10 is because of the sheer brilliance of the underlying game—the flawless narrative, the deeply moving characters, and the timeless story are still there. However, as a visual upgrade, it really isn't impressive. The only noticeable difference lies in the facial animations; everything else looks marginally better at best. Sacrificing overall performance and stability for such a minor graphical bump is unacceptable. I simply cannot recommend this version to anyone. If you want to experience this masterpiece the way it deserves to be experienced, stick to the original game. It is a far better, smoother ride. Painful as it is to type this out, this remaster is nothing more than a lazy cash-grab.
Rating: 5/10
