This is a pretty surface level game and most likely you'll never see the later game content since it's quite slow paced but I'm weirdly obsessed with it. It's pretty clunky in several ways but it never really bothered me, in fact I think that clunkiness is part of the charm for me. I've played countless hours of this game when I wanted to just zone out despite it being long abandoned. If you like complex strategy games it's almost definitely not for you but if you prefer something more simple and easy to pick up to just waste a few hours on you may like it as well.
For the person claiming it has things that Banished doesn't, like hunting bears/wolves. Don't think that's a good review, you get near these animals and click. It's over. They don't fight back, don't run, die to 1 click. This person is unimaginably easy to amuse. Villagers frequently starve despite having a home with food in it, some females refuse to get pregnant even with the best houses that claim to increase chance and have a variety of food. A few features were never finished and the game has been abandoned. Ex: difficulty setting has remained greyed out for years. Resolution does not stick and is reset to 1024x768 every restart, even after a fresh install with no mods. Graphics settings frequently reset to lowest. I will never support these devs again.

The game is very very bad optimized, even with my 4080 GPU with everything at minimum it works pretty bad, specially when terraforming. Plus has too many bugs and doesnt feel polished. Looks like a Banished clone, and feels repetitive. Way toooo expensive for what it is.
People claim this is a successor to Banished, but it is not. It might have been if the devs were still tweaking it and fine tuning, but they are not. From what I hear this is a dead game. It had potential, but there are just too many balance issues. I am a huge fan of banished with well over a 1,000 hours on it. If you are patient and stay balanced you will succeed. The same can not be said of this game. You can do everything correctly and by things totally out of your control (or even knowledge) your game can be ruined within 10 minutes. Who would consider that fun? Games should be challenging enough to be fun, but not so much so that it becomes punishing. That, on top of the lack of customization options just ruins the game. This is no Banished, that's for sure....
I've been playing Life is Feudal: Forest Village for around five years now, and it’s easily one of my favorite top-down simulation games. If you're into city builders with a slower, more thoughtful pace, this one’s a gem. The game offers a relaxing yet engaging experience. You start with a small group of villagers and gradually build up a thriving medieval settlement. What I love most is the balance between micromanagement and letting things flow — you can dive deep into resource planning, crop rotation, and villager health, or just sit back and watch your village grow organically. Visually, it’s charming. The graphics aren’t cutting-edge, but they’re atmospheric and do a great job of immersing you in the rustic medieval setting. The seasons and weather effects add a nice touch of realism, and watching your village change over time is genuinely satisfying. Gameplay-wise, it’s not overly punishing, which makes it perfect for relaxed sessions. There’s a bit of a learning curve at first, especially with managing food and warmth during winter, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing. If you're a fan of games like Banished or Anno, and you enjoy building and managing without constant pressure or combat, Forest Village is well worth your time. It’s not perfect — some UI elements could be more intuitive, and mod support is limited — but overall, it’s a cozy, rewarding experience. Rating: 8/10 Best for: Fans of chill city builders, medieval sims, and top-down strategy games.
