10/10 Masterpiece; Battlefield 4 is a generational classic that defined a legacy, and continues to be the golden standard that fans of the series compare other titles in the genre to. After 13 years and countless new game releases, Battlefield 4 genuinely remains as the greatest military FPS game of all time, and realm of large scale warfare, it is unmatched. Newer titles try to emulate the romance of BF4, but so far, they have all fell flat on their faces. The only other shooter game that comes close in terms of a similar enjoyment is Insurgency Sandstorm, but even then, it is for different reasons, and I still prefer the overall experience of Battlefield 4. Ignore the boomers that say BF3 had a certain "magic" to it, or the COD refugees that glaze BF6. BF4 is the game in the series that truly refined what "only in Battlefield" feels like. BF1 and BFV are alright, but they do not even come close to the greatness of BF4. I have already put thousands of hours into this game across both console, and PC via the EA App (formerly Origin), and seeing that it now goes on sale for $1.99 on Steam, it is a no brainer to buy this absolute classic and show support for it. Even if you are a veteran like me and already have this game, just buy it again for the sake of centralizing your PC gaming ecosystem on Steam (praise Gabe), it literally costs less than a fast food meal! As for the game itself, what has not already been said about this masterpiece? Battlefield 4 perfects its IP's formula of combined arms at land, air, and sea, which realizes itself to its true potential in a modern warfare setting. The gameplay loop is dangerously addictive; I still actively play BF4 more than a decade later; ventilating in-game enemies with the M416 or SCAR-H (gas piston rifle supremacy!), "camping" with a 200 round belt-fed MG4 on a bipod, and eviscerating digital foes in an M1 Abrams or LAV-25 never gets old. I have even managed to eliminate an attack helicopter on a killstreak before while being a door gunner in a transport chopper before, fun times! DICE really did well here, it remains their best work to this day; besides the gameplay, the guns, vehicles, maps, and overall atmosphere and experience of Battlefield 4 are absolutely stellar. The factions in BF4 are actual nation-states, and the OPFOR of the United States of America is not a mercenary political cover LARP, such as in Battlefield 6 with Pax Armata. The gigachad USMC represents the ultra based American faction in BF4. Semper Fidelis, and Oorah, Marine Corps! Even more topical with the 250th birthday of the great America coming up soon! My final verdict is obvious, and while I am utterly unashamed of expressing my biases, my comments are not purely through the view of rose-tined glasses. To reiterate, Battlefield 4 is an unrivaled masterpiece within its genre, and offers an absurd amount of long term enjoyment and value among all video games in general. As of writing this review in the Summer of 2026, yes, the game as a multiplayer experience is still playable on PC. The hacker issue is exaggerated, the player base is healthy with thousands of people playing it on a daily basis (more active than BF 2042, but obviously, since that game is trash). Optimization is good, and since this is an old game, it will naturally run very well on older hardware and affordable tech in general, so even more so on newer computers; even in 2026, this game remains beautiful and impressive in graphics and general fidelity. It has gracefully aged like a premium bottle of fine wine. Battlefield 4 is already worth the time and money at $39.99, so when it is on sale for a mere $1.99, it is an easy must-buy! Also, this game got banned in China by the CCP, so even more giga based! Battlefield 4 remains one of the strongest modern military shooters DICE has ever produced. Even more than a decade after release, it is easy to see why so many players still consider it one of the franchise's high points. Unlike several later entries, Battlefield 4 keeps its focus firmly on large-scale military warfare. The combination of infantry combat, tanks, helicopters, jets and environmental destruction. Whether fighting through urban streets, armored battlefields or massive naval engagements, the game constantly delivers the scale that helped define the Battlefield series. The campaign is also one of the better ones in the franchise. While it does not reach the narrative quality of dedicated single-player shooters, there is a clear effort to create memorable characters, varied missions and large military set pieces. Vehicle sections, combat encounters and mission variety help make the campaign more enjoyable than many of Battlefield's other single-player offerings. For a game released in 2013, the visuals still hold up surprisingly well. Explosions, destruction effects, weapon models and environmental detail continue to look impressive, although some aspects of the lighting can occasionally feel excessive. The sound design remains excellent, with powerful weapon audio and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the military atmosphere. The biggest challenge Battlefield 4 faces today is not the game itself, but the state of its multiplayer. Official support is largely a thing of the past, meaning most players rely on community servers. While the game remains playable, the available server selection is significantly smaller than it once was, some regions struggle with population, and the overall experience can vary depending on the server being played. New players should understand that they are not entering the same Battlefield 4 ecosystem that existed at launch. That does not mean the multiplayer is dead. There are still active communities keeping the game alive, and many of the core mechanics remain as enjoyable as ever. The problem is simply that age has introduced limitations that cannot be ignored when evaluating the game today. Looking back, Battlefield 4 represents a period where the franchise successfully balanced large-scale warfare, vehicle combat, destruction and military immersion without relying on many of the live-service systems that would later become common throughout the industry. The core gameplay remains enjoyable, the campaign is still worth experiencing and the overall military identity feels stronger than many of the entries that followed. However, despite the score, I cannot actively recommend purchasing Battlefield 4 today if your main objective is multiplayer. The reality is that the game no longer exists in the same state that made it famous. Official support is gone, the player base is much smaller, most activity depends on community servers and the overall experience is far more limited than it once was. This creates a strange situation where I still consider Battlefield 4 one of the strongest games in the franchise, but at the same time I cannot ignore the reality of what new players will actually find when they buy it today. Эта игра хоть и устарела в некоторых моментах, но она до сих пор приносит в разы больше удовольствия и фана, чем Battlefield 6. Тут в разы больше игровых механик. Более разнообразный и интересный мап-дизайн с масштабом и вертикальностью. Более взрослый и сдержанный визуал без всякого цветастого мусора и родовой палаты на поле боя. 13 лет назад разработчики лучше понимали что такое Battlefield.

[spoiler]Прошел за 4 часа полностью с концовкой на смерть Ханны...[/spoiler] Освежила память данная игра ведь проходил на playstation 4 еще когда мне было лет 6. Концовка не зашла как сейчас так и тогда (выбор без выбора) в итоге погибает какой то из героев как по мне одна из самых лучшей частей баттлы , пока идут скидки советую всем приобрести и поиграть в данную игрушку!

Muy buena campaña y el motor grafico frostbite envejeció bastante bien, increíble que sea un juego del 2013. Lo único "malo" que vi es que tus compañeros no hacen nada, osea, le disparan a los enemigos pero se ve que el juego esta diseñado para que tu mates a los enemigos y no tus compañeros, asi que vas a ver como le vacían cargador tras cargador a los enemigos y no muere ninguno. El resto de la campaña excelente. Nota: 9/10.
