I really tried to like this game and ended up putting way more hours into it than I expected but I still just couldn't get into it. The graphics and art style are incredibly charming, that's what made me pick it up in the first place but the gameplay is too repetitive and never feels rewarding. * Crafting higher-priced products requires significantly more ingredients from your garden but the "extra" profit isn't worth the time and effort. You're honestly better off mass-producing the cheaper, easier items. * The helper AI is frustratingly bad. She prioritizes stocking display trays instead of serving waiting customers which slows down service and cuts into your profits. Even after closing time, it'll still restock displays instead of using those products to fulfill the remaining customer orders. * The QoL "upgrades" that are supposed to make things easier actually make the game more frustrating. The rail system's ingredient priority is poorly designed and can easily waste ingredients if you aren't constantly paying attention. The movement speed upgrades barely make a difference, especially once you're juggling all three areas. Instead of making the game feel smoother, it will still just make you wish you could move even faster. I respect the work the developers put into this but there's a reason it's inexpensive and constantly on sale. If it weren't for the charming visuals this would honestly feel like a shovelware to me. There are much better cozy management games out there that are actually worth your time.
This game was more stressful than I cared to experience. It puts obstacles that are routine breaking while you're trying to make the desserts for your customers: sweeping the dirt from the floors that slow you down, having to brush down animals or watering the fruit plants so that they produce their ingredients. And for what? A small amount of money. Meanwhile the upgrades cost a lot of money so you have to grind the levels over and over to accrue enough money to buy the upgrades. Playing this game was more like a job than a game I can enjoy. Got so sick of the grind for little money that I just stopped and uninstalled it. To hell with how the bakery turns out. Even the positive reviews said when you upgrade, they remove the old stress, but add new things that will stress you out. No thank you. There are better games that aren't grindy to upgrade, that don't have things breaking down or having desserts burning in the oven because you couldn't get to them in time, just to fill out the game. The grind and obstacles in the way while you're trying to prepare the desserts just aren't worth my time when they cause stress instead of relaxation and fun. And for that, I can't recommend this game. Save your money for better designed games.
Lemon Cake is a delightful bakery management simulator developed and published by Cozy Bee Games that blends cooking, farming, and business management into a wholesome and relaxing experience. Built around the dream of restoring a neglected bakery, the game places players in charge of transforming an abandoned establishment into a lively café filled with fresh pastries, satisfied customers, and charming decorations. Rather than relying solely on cooking mechanics, the game introduces a complete production cycle where ingredients are grown, harvested, prepared, and eventually served as delicious baked goods. This thoughtful design creates a satisfying sense of ownership over every product that leaves the kitchen while maintaining an inviting atmosphere suitable for players of all skill levels. The gameplay revolves around balancing multiple responsibilities throughout each business day. Players must care for crops inside the greenhouse, gather ingredients, prepare recipes, bake pastries at the proper time, refill display shelves, clean tables, and serve customers before their patience runs out. As the bakery becomes more successful, these responsibilities naturally increase, encouraging players to develop efficient routines and prioritize tasks wisely. The growing challenge never feels unfair because new mechanics and recipes are introduced gradually, allowing players to comfortably learn the systems while steadily improving their bakery's productivity. A major highlight of Lemon Cake is its rewarding progression system. Earnings from each successful day can be invested in repairing damaged areas of the bakery, purchasing better equipment, expanding the menu, and decorating the café with attractive furnishings. These upgrades are more than simple visual enhancements, as improved tools increase efficiency and make handling larger customer crowds much easier. Unlocking additional recipes also adds welcome variety to the gameplay, motivating players to continue expanding their business while experimenting with increasingly sophisticated baked goods. Every improvement reinforces the feeling that the once-forgotten bakery is slowly becoming a thriving local favorite. The farming component adds another enjoyable layer that distinguishes Lemon Cake from many traditional restaurant management games. Instead of purchasing every ingredient, players cultivate fruits and other essential supplies themselves, creating a satisfying connection between agriculture and baking. This farm-to-table approach makes the production process feel more personal and rewarding, since every pie, cake, and pastry begins with ingredients that the player has grown and harvested. The greenhouse also provides a peaceful contrast to the busy kitchen, helping maintain the game's calm and comforting atmosphere. Visually, Lemon Cake excels with its colorful hand-drawn presentation and adorable character designs. Every room is filled with warm colors, expressive animations, and charming details that reinforce the game's cozy identity. Freshly baked desserts look appetizing, customers display lively reactions, and the bakery gradually becomes more vibrant as renovations are completed. The cheerful soundtrack and relaxing sound effects complement the visuals perfectly, creating an environment that feels welcoming from beginning to end. Even during the busiest moments, the presentation never loses its lighthearted appeal. Although the game offers a consistently enjoyable experience, its straightforward design means veteran management simulator fans may eventually notice repetitive daily routines after unlocking most upgrades and recipes. The emphasis remains on creating a relaxing gameplay loop rather than introducing deep economic systems or complex strategic mechanics. Likewise, players seeking a strong narrative or extensive customization options may find the experience somewhat limited. However, these minor drawbacks do little to diminish the game's charm, as it succeeds remarkably well at delivering exactly the kind of cozy management experience it promises. Lemon Cake is a polished and heartwarming simulation that successfully combines farming, baking, restaurant management, and light business strategy into an engaging package. Its accessible mechanics, satisfying progression, and irresistibly charming presentation make it easy to lose track of time while expanding the perfect neighborhood bakery. Whether players enjoy relaxing simulation games, cooking titles, or wholesome management experiences, Lemon Cake offers a rewarding blend of creativity and organization that remains entertaining throughout its gradual journey from abandoned shop to flourishing café. Rating: 8/10
Cute art style. Maybe a little repetitive, but not bad for a cooking game. Kind of cozy, and has fun recipes.
Para los que buscamos algo parecido a un papa´s pizzeria/freezeria/bakeria es el juego ideal, con gráficos bonitos, el simulador es lo que promete y es relajante sin dejar de tener una jugabilidad muy fluida
